HISTORY
The Norwegian company Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace is one of three companies under the Kongsberg group and is a continuation of Kongsberg Våpenfabrikk. Kongsberg makes products for both defense and aerospace, and has over a number of years developed a number of very successful products such as the Naval Strike Missiles, Penguin asw to mention a few and the market leading protector series, featuring multiple families of remote controlled weapon stations and turrets , which countries all over the world have already started integrating on their vehicles and vessels even.
This vehicle is an ACV from BAE Systems with an Kongsberg Protector RS6 From Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace. The vehicle was first seen at the Modern Day marine event in May 2022, and these two companies has worked together to create this combination. BAE Systems with the vehicle and Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace with the weapon station and the integrated combat solution (All the antennas). I haven’t managed to find any other combinations like this or in use by anyone, this should be the only one.
The ACV is an Amphibious Combat vehicle designed and developed around 2010, and is based upon the Iveco SuperAv. The production of this vehicle started in 2020 with 36 vehicles and was followed by 80 of these vehicles per year after.
IN GAME
This could be an interesting vehicle for warthunder, with the ability to travel in water and on land with great mobility, and have the option to fight both aircrafts, drones and light tanks, even heavier armored tanks considering it has an 127mm javelin available.
