"Activity" Doesn't Fairly Reflect What You Did Sometimes

There are tasks that require a minimum of activity percentage, typically 70%, which is easy enough pretty much all the time.

HOWEVER, every so often I’ll get a really bad Ground RB match where I just can’t get it together, but I’m still always moving towards the enemy and trying to engage them, and still using all my spawn points (not leaving the match early while still having a spawn to use); but I’m just getting wrecked and losing all my spawns before I can do anything.

That STILL should be high activity, because I’m not sitting in one place, and I’m not running FROM battle, instead running TO battle (indeed, all my spawns get killed BECAUSE I’m getting in to the fight).

Just because I got my butt handed to me doesn’t mean I should get sub-70% activity. I think activity calculations need to be reexamined.

Knowing that despite using all my spawns and running in to battle even if I’m going to get creamed isn’t likely to get at least 70% in a really bad match if, I didn’t manage at least a single kill or an assist, is encouragement for 1 death leaving in such a bad match when I’m trying to get 70% tasks done. I don’t think 1 death leaving should be encouraged, even if it’s not intentionally being encouraged, such occurrences make me wish I did, because what was the point of using all my spawns and getting in to an obvious losing fight if I’m not even going to get 70%?

From what @Uncle_J_Wick once posted for battlepass tasks, activity seems to be based on the time you were alive vs the score you gained. In a similar thread I found out of similar frustrations, they described a way to guarantee 85% ARB activity: Bomb a base, RTB - kill stuff if easy to kill and J out.

It’s stupid, yes.

Still valid rule of thumb - so with the “right” plane selection you can get these wins with 85% battle activity (at least at prop BRs in Air RB) still with a single basekill and an enemy aircraft kill, but only if the match does end in ~ 9-10 minutes. With a fighter you need 2 player kills in ~ 12-13 minutes, 1 kill in 7 minutes is not enough.

The main problem is the MM - in case your teams are too good you struggle often to get a player kill as the enemy team refuses to climb and gets steamrolled, so sometimes you need to kill 2-4 ai planes to get above 85% with a base kill - or lots of ai planes and ai units in a short time span…

Example: I ended today a 18 match win streak - in 9 of these matches my activity was lower than 85% as either the enemy team get stomped or the games lasted too long. Too long either due to heavy clouds or good enemy players. And, ofc, i lost 4 out of the 6 subsequent matches :-)

I get it but I was talking about Ground RB. In Air, I never have this issue.
