Account transfer integration through steam and PC (adjacent to the full transfer topic)

So Its a pretty hot topic for some players, in regards to the full transfer of an account originally made on console, moved to PC. This post will focus more on issues that branch off of that, as many players are staying in the hypothetical purgatory that the company has kept them in.

(Before we start, I know theres gonna be the concept of “Skill Issue” for not starting on a PC account, however Im sure many like myself didnt have access to one at the time of picking up the title. Given the lifespan of the game, players will have evolved in terms of the platforms they use, but the lack of ability to fully enjoy the game, is in the hands of Gaijin)

I myself started playing during the Xbox War Thunder beta (purchase of the xm1 I believe to have early access) and since then, I have moved platforms. Being said theres a plethora of issues that come along. Aside from not having access to something like the Gaijin market.

One of the biggest issues, is the limitation to not being able to buy pack vehicles from the game tech tree. Those that are available are very limited through the steam store. (at this time its seeming there are 38 DLC listed items. This is to include soundtrack/texture pack items) Of which, people commonly report that they dont receive their items purchased through steam (whether this is just a temporary or permanent stent im not sure, due to not seeing anyone update their comments in whatever associated pack they bought through steam and Id rather not assume even if itd be a safe bet they did eventually)

Even downloading the gaijin installer, didnt provide the ability to view/purchase any additional in game packs, if desired. Of course, it makes sense due to my account not changing any status whether I play through steam or the launcher (as again the account originated on console). But that being said, the only accessible work around, is to get back onto a console (which some individuals may no longer have access to, i.e me) and purchase through there.

It also means, you can only buy gold through the gaijin website store, and that there is zero ability to pre-order vehicles. Missing out on whatever additional bonus content youd receive from doing so.

These issues hinder a players ability to have equal access to items that they even had prior to switching platforms. Again, the Gaijin market is a massive aspect to get vehicles, without just straight up gambling for them whenever SL crates come out. But this focuses on more prominent issues of general, non event/limited time vehicles, being unable to be accessed, unless purchased with limited selection through steam, or back on the original console platform they used in the first place.

It causes a road block for those that want to expand their access to the game, and have options to browse, purchase, or even just test vehicles.

Whilst it would be amazing for Gaijin to put more resources into doing full account transfers with whatever dept covers that (would be amazing tbh). It would be equally as nice if not more so, for all pack vehicles, to be available for purchase, for those that are in this middle ground. PC allows for more limitations in regards to graphics, performance, user content accessibility, but at the cost of loosing access to vehicles to maintain an equal ground with the originating platforms that players started on, whilst in this transitional phase.

TLDR: You transfer to PC from console at a loss of access to in game assets for that of the PCs hardware capabilities. As you are not considered a PC player with an account that has console origination, but also cannot purchase vehicles on gaijin store/in game pack store, as your account originates from console.
