So i recently saw someone saying merkave was better than abram at longer ranges and wanted to see what other players have to say about it and if it really is better. Personally i feel like the Abram would be better but this might just be my bias towards them(without including skill level of players)
Merkava (MK4) is statistically better, mainly because they aren’t in the hands of the average US main.
Unfortunately the armour is still cucked so while it holds some advantages to the M1A2 SEP V2, it falls short in several categories where it should otherwise be on par.
In short, they should be very similar overall, but as a result of poor modelling they are all over the place respectively
Even if you give US mains leo 2a7v they will still complain about it. But i wanted to ask this without including skill level of players
Alright i’ll lay it out as a comparison:
Mobility- Abrams wins for speed yet Merkava is better all around due to having a reverse gearbox
Firepower - Abrams gets marginally more pen but they both share the same 5s reload and 620mm+ pen
Optics - I prefer the Merkava’a but they both have high quality thermals and good optics
Utilities - Merkavas are the smoke king although recently the gap was closed when M1A2 SV2 got ROSY and extra smokes, pretty similar still
Armour- Abrams can stop more shots so is better in the armour department
Survivability- Merkava sees a clear win here, i’ve tanked an absolute ton of damage from a range of sources (KE & CE + CAS and autocannons)
All in all they are very similar, and play pretty much identically

Abrams SEP has too much trash on the turret which reduces its ability to stealth, Merkavas doesn’t have this problem when peeking and it starts with M322 as stock, you can even skip the tier 4 ammunition and go after the essentials like engines parts which is also a win for Merkavas. It can very well be #2 best top tier MBT under 2A7/122B. It also technologically more advanced with IRST lock and LWS, not to mention it can reverse as quickly as moving forward, you don’t even have to turn around to drive away at full speed.
Doesn’t matter when considering how insanely tall the MK4M is, easily the largest MBT in game

Well that would be true for SEP V2 But recently they also got their sound changed which IMO makes them harder to detect when they are near by. While Merkava does not have all that stuff of its turret like SEP V2 but it still has alot of antenna which sometimes make them easier to spot
And Merkava does not have that NATO hump
