Abrams Turret Armor Still Not Modeled Correct Even After Being Revamped

Why even after Revamping the turret armor model, it’s still not correct.

This is how it currently looks in game, the red line marks the correct location for the side armor to stop and the main turret cheek armor to start. you can also see how they have modeled the side armor as 2 different plates.

Here is how the side armor is supposed to look with all the armor being one plate that looks like the one over the ammo, so the armor should not be 64mm of NERA but closer to 440mm of the ammo’s armor.
Turret Side

You can also see how the front of the turret is supposed to come fully to the side and even filling some of the turret side in “Department of The Army, Request to Amed License SUB-1536.”

This is closer to how the armor is supposed to look.

And on top of all that, the NERA on the side still does not have the same RHAe per mm of NERA value of the front making the armor way weaker then it should be over the ammo.
Turret is 0.42mm RHAe per mm of NERA
side is 1.6mm RHAe per mm of NERA (before it was 0.15mm RHAe per mm of NERA, was changed due to them making the plate way too thin)
over the ammo is 0.068mm RHAe per mm of NERA (this causes the plate to be 58mm thick and allows auto cannons to go straight into the ammo from the side)

As you can see the value is all over the place despite the fact it’s the same type of NERA (should all have the same value of 0.42) and this even applies to the side armor of later Abrams, but i have to recalculate the values of the turret cheeks due to the updated model.

There is a bug report for this Community Bug Reporting System , but as it’s been almost 24 hours it’ll most likely be ignored.

The armor in-game is currently accurate, & your sources prove it’s correct.

Your screenshot is the wrong tank, & is wrong on the location of when the armor ends.

As shown here, the armor is in its correct location.

unrelated to the turret, why is it that in game the composite side skirts are not symmetrical?

That’s how it’s done IRL. I assume it’s due to frontal arc protection so it protects the commander/gunner with the extra skirts on the right side.

The inside is correct, the outside is too long and should be turret cheek armor

and you can see it is not supposed to go past the smoke launchers so that would make it the cheek armor
Turret Side

also I’m using the M1 because it’s harder to see where the armor is supposed to connect on later motels because the commander sight gets in the way.

also your line is around the middle of the gun sight when it should be at the end of the gun shield if not further back making the armor to long and also putting the end of the side armor behind the smoke launchers as i said,

The diagram disproves your claims.

How? it shows that the cheek armor fills the space that has side armor in it. the space you marked was not even where the diagram said it started.

Turret Side armor
you can see in this part that the armor stops at the storage racks on the side.

also even if the cheek armor does not fill that space the armor is still way too thin there as the entire side plate should look like this and be 440mm of NERA not the 64 they have listed.
