I did do it to a T-80 on Normandy a few days ago. Let me find the server replay.
Now this makes more sense. Aced and maxed crew gives you more vitality. In all of these screenshots, an expert or basic crew with less vitality would most likely outright die, instead of being left on red HP, where the fire then ticks them down.
Isn’t his gunner dead as well? Commander is red, fire starts to bleed crew hp, commander already was almost dead and dies next second

Yea, gunner and loader died to the shot but commander is red and dies to fire.
So we have a fire spread problem. The engine catches fire and the commander (who is in the furthest part of the tank from the engine), catches fire and dies instantly. Make it make sense.
Commander is literally closest to the engine.
If I understand correctly, fire just damages all crew.
except for the t-34, that shi just survives forever😭😭😭😭
Also this. It damages the closest slightly more than the farthest, but it damages all crew.
The engine compartment is separated from the crew area, and it has its own automatic fire-detection and suppression system. In War Thunder, that is not modeled.
Again, where exactly fire was started? Basket can catch fire too. And I can see your basket damaged
