About the USSR Svetlana-class

I started playing Bluewater Fleet because of an event. Before that, I only briefly played Coastal Fleet about two years ago.

I had previously obtained the Murmansk from a Battle Pass, so I started directly at RB 5.0 and reached RB 6.0 by the time the event ended.

Kirov has strong firepower but lacks protection.
Chapayev has a high rate of fire and can lay down a rain of shells.

In comparison, the 180 mm main guns on Krasny Kavkaz are not very accurate — the shells often land noticeably closer than the aimed range, and the reload time is long.

Krasny Krym and Chervona Ukraina have numerous fast-firing 130 mm guns, but the destroyer Tashkent, which uses the same 130 mm naval guns, is faster in every aspect…

I quite like the Svetlana-class.
I find their appearance simple yet with enough complexity that they don’t look monotonous.
Among them I especially like Krasny Kavkaz, but I feel I just can’t use them very well.

Is it simply a lack of skill on my part, or are they genuinely a bit mediocre in areas other than survivability?

The Kryms have exposed magazines in the stern but if you manage to hide that and get relatively close, you can more or less outbrawl any ship up to 5.7 if it really comes to it.

Anything with AP is arguably a potential death sentence since the non-conventional layout is heavily against you.
