And alway met SU30.

South eastern city is just too small for top tier. It is ridiculous. You get shot at by long range sam as soon as you take off. Constant air-to-air because you just have too. Do this to get enough points for a nuke and lob those at the ground targets. It is a constant stream of tossed nukes because you can’t be arsed to do actual SEAD or ground attacks, when everything is basically right next to your airfield.

On top of that, just fix the damn AI AA finally! I can’t count the times where I come over one of the hills in the middle of the new map and already see a 2S6 missile in the air, coming right at me. And don’t you dare to say, that this is some IADS bullshit. I flew at tree top level the whole time, no RWR warnings, because no long range radars (or any radar) can see me there. This AI sees me through the damn hill and shoots 2 - 3 seconds before I get into view. You die because you have no time or room to evade and the last thing you get to see is a smug 2S6 driving calmly through the landscape. This is annoying and kills this game mode.

Honestly, Nuclear Thunder is becoming unplayable with the amount of ITO 90M and 2S6 spam. The entire map is crawling with SAMs, and you can’t even enjoy a proper dogfight or make a ground attack without getting instantly shot down. The most frustrating part is that you often have absolutely no idea where the missiles are coming from until it’s too late. They’re everywhere, and there’s barely any room to actually play. SAMs have their place, but this is ridiculous. Gaijin seriously needs to reduce their numbers or do something about the saturation…Right now, it’s less of an air combat mode and more of a “guess which SAM is going to kill you next” simulator.

not a thing in NE

easy

answer whichever one shots first

real solution is to multipath or get city map (I find that playable it has mountains to hide behind) or some say target s300 so you can climb and enjoy the game which is easier than it sounds but works when your team isnt trash

how does multipath help agains saclos launchers like 2s6 and ito that launch at you while youre on the deck through an entire forest and somehow pull enough to hit you going mach 1.2 perpendicular to them 8 km out?

i just stay away from those, which is sometimes hard to do because they pop up on the map sometimes when youre 5 km away for whatever reason and then swat you out of the air with an invisible missile.

2s6 seems to lock whatever it sees so it you just turn and run away or lauch arms or whatever you have it locks that and drops the missile lock on you
climb to 5k meters and you get fried so avoiding some is better than getting targeted by all(multipath)

well if youre rather high alt, 6 km or more youll usually only get targeted by one at a time making it much easier to see which one is launching at you. unfortunately then youll have multiple sampts or even worse s300s launch at you from multiple angles forcing you to turn into a notch…

the mode really requires your team to get rid of the long range sams asap to be able to use altitude to gain a range advantage on glide bombs and fox 3s…trying to penetrate their frontline at multipath height is just a death sentence and usually not worth it imo.

my main gripe with them really is that depending on ordinance the interception success rate is 100% for some munitions and even more that they sometimes pop up on the map like right in your face when its already basically too late. You went into their death bubble unknowingly and now your survival is sheer luck…bit annoying ngl.

The 2s6s are pretty inconsistent. I have had times where I was 25+ km away, flying away from it back to base, and it was still holding a lock on me. And I have had other times where I was able to fly right up to it and kill it with guns and it just completely ignored me.

I once got lucky and had 5 f15E on team all of them getting more than 30 ground targets ofcourse we won team matters more than 1 player but really the easiest way of playing is gettting air kills in SE city I can get 10 kills (happend before) in the other map I cant get many air kills but more ground kills its all in the map and team after 1 person can destroy the long range AA then it becomes 10x easier but somehow I get targeted by HQ-11 on airfeild 60 seconds after taking off thankfully we have a whole ocean next to us while playing so just hide in that

somehow Ive had those small BMP-4 with HE making crazy shots on me

Yeah I have had that happen as well but with the 30mm autocannon instead of the 100mm. I have heard the bradley is also a bit crazy like that as well, but a bit less so because of the lower firerate.

Well, kinda fortunate that one to two f15es can easily suppress and kill the entire enemy teams long range sams without much counterplay. After that you can sit in space with a f18 and spam aim120ds at the entire enemy team largely uncontested.

Rly not much of a miracle why blue side has to be winning like 80% of matches. I tried to play one match on red side and simply quit after 3 sorties with 18 anti radiation missiles launched at long range sams with only one making it through…

They rly need to continue working on the mode…

also I’m not sure where I saw this but while firing things AA only turns on radar if jet flies past so if you had a teammate going near target your stuff gets caught put if you don’t have a teammate going near it will ignore it

They made it so that the long range SAMs can detect an anti radiation missile launch and turn their radar off so anti rad missiles aren’t very good for dealing with them.

idk why Russia and china struggle too much they have better arms but USA has f15E and to come f15EX

They turn on their search radars whenever there is a threat within 1.5x their max range. So a player, a missile, a TBM, an MLRS strike, etc will all trigger the search radar to turn on. And they don’t need the search radars on to even be able to intercept stuff. The M163 has no search radar at all and it is insanely good at intercepting missiles. And the mobile SAMs can intercept things that are way above their radar scan angles.

hopefully cluster bombs will change some things but i actually do expect that insane AA to be intercepting cluster grenades

hm. makes sense but iirc they were shot down…might be wrong though. so what should you use as sead standoff weapons playing red side? Or you simply dont play sead at all because blue sides long range sams are largely harmless compared to buks and s300s and just ignore them and go high alt anyways?

I mean isnt it designed as a sead gamemode? But like 70% of all ordinance is completely pointless to bring?

And how is that? With AGM154s? You do realize you need SAM sites visible in order to properly launch at them, you can guestimate their position withj online map but it has obvious chances of simply missing, AGM154s are not that potent explosive vise. Not to mention they have pretty long flight time, while Kh31s will do that much quicker.
