A Swiss sub-tree for Germany is not the right choice

Once France got leopard(and every other nation) 1/2 trying to keep French stuff out of the German tree stopped making any sense.

and i don’t agreee with the careless leopard spam either, it makes sense for some (like sweden), but not for others (like france). and just because gaijin did it before, doesn’t mean they should keep doing it either.

For years Germany has been denied historically used vehicles from the East German tree and even vehicles like the m47 aren’t in the tech tree.

it’s bad enough already that FDR-vs-DDR matchups can’t happen outside of events/sim due to how split nation trees are handled, but outright copy-paste-maxxing every single soviet/russian vehicle used by the DDR, would be way worse.

same thing for US exports to the FDR, although the M47 is a bad exemple here because it is in the german tech tree

Germany should get every single Swiss vehicle made.

if switzerland can’t get an independant tech tree, which they really should…

…then french-swiss stuff shouldn’t go to germany (and vice-versa : german-swiss stuff shouldn’t go to france.)

It is a premium which I believe is also no longer available for purchase. There is no actual reason for Germany not to get DDR vehicles. They already have some, and plenty of German vehicles go to other trees.

If the Swiss don’t get an independent tech tree then all Swiss vehicles should go to Germany. We have a Dutch Gepard going to France, and I’m sure many more.

Currently, Germany does not have a unique top tier MBT, it doesn’t even have the best version of its own top tier tank.

France has plenty of domestic designs and I’m sure they will be getting more German Dutch vehicles. No reason for them to triple dip and get Swiss vehicles.

except it’s not, gaijin has changed stuff like this before, the biggest case being the italian “subtree” to germany, it could well happen again (and honestly, it really should for some of the subtrees)

the premium vehicles are mostly stuck where they are, since they’re purchases protected under law, but not the researchable ones, and again, just because they added vehicles to the wrong tree before, doesn’t mean they should do it again.

and again, i firmly disagree, for the exact same reasons that i also disagree with all of the german vehicles being added to the french tech tree, PRTL includded.

as far as i’m concerned : german-dutch vehicles should go to the german tree; for the exact same reason that : french-swiss vehicles should go to the french tree ; that’s where they fit the best, as far as “tech-trees” are concerned

and? i doubt switzerland’s Leopard 2s would bring you this, and i’m fairly certain german variants like the 2A8 or 2 Revolution would fit that desire better , but sure, i don’t mind swiss leopard 2s being added to germany

no, i’m saying that, if gaijin, for exemple : moves the existing swiss vehicles into an independant swiss tree ; the swiss premiums can’t/won’t move ; in the same way that there is a D.520 in the british tree or an isreali F-84F in the french tree.

gaijin isn’t entirely bound by their past actions, except for the premium vehicles.

and the 2A8 doesn’t have to go to the other trees, not if those trees have better options available in the near future, just like french-swiss vehciles shouldn’t go to the german tree

I don’t know what you are talking about again. I mentioned the fact that the M47 is a premium vehicle even though it was used by west Germany and should be in the tech tree. Also, it’s such a weird thing to say “well, they gave 5 nations the same tank you have and or a better version but now we correct the mistake…by having a double standard and not giving this nation a vehicle from a nation”

no, i do understand your point, i just disagree with it.

wether or not the Leclerc or the Rafale is added to every other tech tree, does not change the view that : french-swiss vehicles have more in common with France’s tech tree than Germany’s.

the rest of “the french” are not involved here, not everyone that’s “whining” about this is french, and wether or not they are is entirely irrellevant to this discussion

you say that, but the ones that get those “vehicles they don’t need or never used”, are also not happy about it. france tt mains included…

…which is why they would even ask for french-swiss vehicles in the first place :

  • those are related to france and its vehicles (export models, shared frame/hull or turret…)
  • some of them are very much needed in the tech tree (SPAAs, SPHs, stabilized tanks…)
  • some don’t (or can’t) have a french counterpart added instead. (either non-existent or very hard to find info on)

There is honestly no point in continuing then.

It is what it is. The Swiss vehicles will be going to Germany, just as the Dutch vehicles have gone to France.
