A Spader's Nightmare

Well I am a “spader” type of player who is playing to try to get most of my vehicles fully equipped (spaded). However major updates are usually problematic for me as in every update gaijin usually adds a lot of new modifications to existing vehicles, for example various new bomb and rocket payloads or engine fire extinguishers. Most of them has little if not no impact to the performance of the vehicle (for example, a 500lb AP bomb for a spitfire, what can it really do, since it’s hard to hit little boats and does nearly no damage to large ships?) , but they just make an already fully equipped vehicle “not spaded” and I have to find them within tens and hundreds of vehicles and play them again to get those new modifications which is rather bothering.
So I believe that gaijin should add a new mechanic that for vehicles that are already spaded before an update, newly added modifications should be automatically researched. Maybe purchased as well, but that’s not necessary since purchasing does not require you to use the vehicle in battle.

I am spading all my vehicles one by one.
In majority of cases, such “issue” with additional module means you need to play 1-3 battles to get it spaded again. You should clearly see not spaded vehicles on your list (if you have a lot of them, lack of “spade” catch eye right away :)
Modules/unlocks/decals etc “do not have retroactive effect” - they are new additions to vehicles - you need to unlock them same like any other player.

I have a friend that has all planes spaded and he hates when you do a blanket change that adds a modification to like 200 planes. Would be cool to reward these veterans that put so much time into the game.

I agree that Gaijin needs to consider a method of Grandfathering player into new systems or changes resulting from Updates. However, I have no idea what the conditoins would be. Generally speaking, I find the ‘unspading of vehicles’ the most reliable way of knowing which vehicles have been effected by an update. It’s quite possible to go through the change log of each patch but seeing it reflected in game is to me more effective.

I agree with this sentiment and one of the positive things I’ve noticed is that if the requirements of unlocking camouflages gets lowered (and I’ve met the lowered requirement), I’ll typically recieve a large batch of decals or camo’s they next time I play the affected vehicle or tech tree which I think is nice.

Just curious though, does anyone know what happened to players researching high tier planes and tanks ages ago when they decided to lower the RP/SL cost of a number Rank IV and V vehicles?
