There’s a specific reason why the Leclerc AZUR exists and it is the same issue Britian had: Frances Top Tier options in the game are severely limited by number, therefore the armor pack tank got added as a standalone to increase the battle presence of french players as they could actually run out of vehicles before others did. That’s also the reason why there’s 3 Type 10s. It is to compensate low number strength.
Let’s be honest, having access to a competent tank chassis four times in battle is not the worst thing. But the lack of diversity is what makes France so weak as their battle presence is only focused on direct destruction, but without the ability to tank in an engagement.
We really need VBLs, to be honest. All variants. With ATGMs and .50s. They would add a massive support layer and with the Jaguar would increase diversity and competitiveness. Also, France having a CTA cannon as the first nation would finally allow for some decent flavour for the nation.
I found the reviex of BR 9.0-9.7 very euphemistic, because I have the sensation that the descriptions given only concern fully optimized tanks. Because to be able to unlock the different improvements, it’s really unplayable.
For the AMX-32 (105), the PCC 105 F1 is desperately useless against MBT, or they’re some trick i need to learn somwhere. A,d for the AMX-32 and 40, they have some HEATFS which are better than the (105) HEAT … With all the faults of this type of ammunition, notably the explosion as soon as it brushes against the slightest bush. Wich is a shame when you try to ambush some ennemy tanks.
It’s so painful to grind this vehicles that i prefer not to exceed rank V to have a minimum of fun in my games.
Can someone explain why the ERC-90 F4 Sagaie, ERC-90 Sagaie 2, & VBC-90 isn’t in the game? Seems odd since these vehicle have actually seen service, exported globally and have seen war.
France has other options besides the AZUR, which my main issue with it is how poorly implemented it is. There’s simply no reason for it to exist in the game as it is.
I would have preferred one of the UAE or the Tropicalisé over it. But since it was demonstrated on an S2 that means it has to be an S2 in game, not an SXXI. France should have a lot of light armor in its line ups as well, not just Leclercs. But Gaijin doesn’t seem to have a very good grasp on French doctrine or is simply averse to the idea of potential for more CAS in ground, which shouldn’t be our problem.
Why is the AML-90 at 7.7 BR and the ELC bis is at 6.0 BR ? The AML-90 is straight trash at 7.7 and the ELC bis dominates at 6.0. Shouldn’t these two vehicles be swapped. I haven’t unlocked the Char 25T yet but that doesn’t seem like it should be at 8.0 either.
I feel like this would make more sense…
AML-90 = 6.7 (The Italian AUBL/74 is at 6.7 BR. It doesn’t have as much Pen but better in every other way.)
ELC bis = 7.0 (Bumped up from 6.0)
Char 25T = 7.3 or 7.7 (Down from 8.0)
A common theme is that mid to high tier French vehicles are overrated by Gaijin compared to their counterparts. While the average skill requirement is higher, the return for reaching it is better.
It seems to me that the description of the AMX-30 (1972) is lacking on an important point! his in-game BR is false.
Of the almost 90 battles I did, only 3 or 4 were in the right BR, and not even in down-tier. Everything else was up-tier, and there, the tank shines with its flaws because it is outclassed even by vehicles in 8.3.
I’m starting to realize that the description given of French vehicles on this topic is ultimately quite misleading compared to the reality in the game, and that it only serves to try to give a good image of the French tech tree so, that in the end, there are some vehicles that are just rolling targets for others.
Because reasons. Worse in every concievable way. Slower turret, reload, less pen, no mg, heavier… Just having better post pen somehow justifies it being 1.7
