But they are R27ERs, AIM7M gap with R27ER is significantly more than AIM9L especially in a flare flying everywhere environment, a smokeless (or rather really short) motor might also help.

i’m trying to grind with it and, oh boy is it a tough one , especially when you have to play always against 12.7 and above airplanes and when there is a billion f14 IRIAF that just spam that freaking fakour and you just have the constant ping in ears cause of the billion of missiles they launch

It’s not the preferred historical layout though, they have proven it is the historical layout while the other is not historical at all.
It could not use them, its why we don’t get aim-7s on the F-4F, is it not?

Cause the F-4F’s radar doesn’t have the M— mode [wish I remembered the full name] for AIM-7F and newer, or a CW illuminator for the legacy AIM-7s [E-2 and older].
And again, how does it make AIM7 a preferred or not armament? (For the F16)
Why would they bother taking out the wiring if they were gonna use sparrows any way?
Short answer they didn’t use it, it wasn’t an avaible armament, it should not be in game

Yes, it couldn’t use it. Just like how the F-16 ADF can’t use sparrows.
They also didn’t allow the F-4F ICE to use AIM-7s as place holders because it couldn’t use them as far as I know.
So they’ve proven that the AIM-120s is the historical loadout.

Actually this is exactly what is going to happen, I’ve already had such experience with C1 Ariete additional armor, when they added 5.5 t of weight to War kit, but didn’t change anything in terms of protection making it something like “heavy air” lol
