You know the A-10 exists at 10.0?
Maybe the A-10? But that thing is slow and thermals have issues picking things up at distances where you would actually take advantage of stand-off ordinance. Under anything but ideal circumstances for the CAS player, one strela can effectively lock-out CAS.
To the point, no one complains about the A-10 being O.P.
So you have a large, slow aircraft, with no optics, trying to guide in TV guided mavericks?
You have basically no experience in the A-10 compared to SPAA (your most played vehicle type). Spend more time in it and try using the mavericks “outside strela range” like you suggest, and then get back to me. I use the A-10A Late, and I can’t get a lock on anything outside strela range with the Maverick Ds…
The strela is only regarded as OP because the vast majority of people who use CAS and helis in GRB are on the verge of a coma.
The overwhelming majority switch their brains off and fly straight towards the battlefield to bring themselves within range of systems which they would have the advantage of range over.
I genuinely do not understand the affliction that ails them.
I have plenty of experience fighting A-10s in SPAA, and as I clearly stated which you have chosen to ignore and strawman another argument.
An A-10 at stand-off range at 10.0 is essentially untouchable by SPAA.
Next cope.
This is somewhat ironic, given you have very little playtime in CAS or Helis, but a huge amount of time in SPAA. SPAA are the only vehicles that you consistently have 2+ KD ratios in too.
I mean that’s just objectively false.
You know that after firing the ATGM You can fly outside of strela range?
So you concede you have to fly within the Strela range to get a lock/launch?
ULQ is making progress! Baby steps!
I have 2+ K/D in plenty of ground vehicles that aren’t SPAA.
And you know how I know that most CAS/helis are braindead?
BECAUSE I play a lot of SPAA and I have seen examples of ones that are actually smart and the vast majority who are not.
I mean that’s just objectively false.
And now you’re just simply lying, come on.
Next cope.
What is a maximum distance that steel can lock on?
You can say that about any vehicle type. I also see idiots in SPAA who can’t hit anything.
You actually don’t have many vehicles with 2+ KD. Strela and Stormer HVM are the two that jump out.
You’re looking at about 5km for optical for the strela, less if weather conditions are cloudy/foggy.
Clearly you didn’t look very hard,
Ironic you bring up stats considering your average K/D is so much lower than mine though.
Maybe you shouldn’t throw stones in glass houses.
I have done 8 km kills with A-10
Yes, but the time it takes to acquire the target, get a lock, fire, and get out of range means that stand-off ordinance isn’t as effective as you’re making it out to be on the A-10 platform. A lot of the time targets don’t even render in until you are just outside of the Strela’s range, and you aren’t even guaranteed a kill, even if you manage to hit the target. No one seriously complains about the A-10’s capabilities. Strela on the other hand has been controversial for a while.
Also, if A-10 can reposition, so can the Strela. There is way more cover for SPAA than there is for CAS.
I know you can use ATGMs from 8km in the A-10, I’ve fought a handful of smart A-10 pilots in the stormer who were flying outside of my reach and smacking people with ATGMs on the battlefield.
SlowHandClap is just a poor liar.
When it comes to strela vs A-10, the air won’t have any problem
Because I don’t take WT seriously. I’m just saying that you clearly play better in SPAA than other vehicles. Don’t take it personally/get upset about it.
Test flight doesn’t count.
Oh of course you don’t take it seriously, you’re just here defending the strela being moved up and shouting skill issue at ULQ_Lover and bringing up stats because of how seriously you don’t take it.
Next.
Cope.
I have done that in Battles ;)
