Yes, with that I agree on.
Gripen, F-16, F-84, Alpha Jet A, F-5A, AV-8S and A-7E are all most likely copy-paste. The only “unique” vehicles are the F-5T and the Alpha Jet TH, which are still modification of existing vehicles. So much for variety and uniqueness.

Realistically, they are only “copy-paste” if you have the other tree(s) that the vehicle is in.
If you don’t have the other tree(s), its a “new” (new to you) vehicle.
I counted 2 - 3 confirmed copy paste.
Unique F-16, at least one unique F-5, a unique Alpha Jet.
The rest are unknown.
I mean, cool i guess. Sad there is somehow no T-1, T-4 or F-2A yet. All fine Japanese designs that need to come ASAP.
At least red team will be getting better options this patch
T-4 is an unarmed trainer, thus can’t be added.
F-2A is a likely step above F-15JM which still doesn’t have its equivalents to face that is Typhoon and Rafale.
And T-1? A meme 8.0 event aircraft.
It has ground ordnance, but does it mean we could have more gunless planes (with missiles) in the future? There’s the Sea Vixen in game, but I’m thinking about early jets interceptors of the Su family.
I am wondering if I need to hurry up and grind them out
@Stona_WT with the addition of a second modified block 15 to the game, is there any plans to modify the Taiwanese Block 20 up to it’s accurate MLU status, or possibility of a new addition with the same armaments as F-16AM/F-16A OCU?

For the people complaining about copy-pasta, do you even play Japan? There is basically no variety and the only somewhat CAS-capable aircraft at top tier is the fake F-16AJ. Thailand will finally bring variety and REAL CAS-capable aircraft.
This is a really welcomed addition and I can’t wait for it to come.

Which is why people are instead suggesting an ASEAN subtree to provide alternatives to the C&P. Personally I wouldve preferred the OA-47B Dragonfly to be added since it would fill the same role but I suppose Japan needs more higher tier CAS options which the Alpha Jet could provide.
Also unique modifications are not the worst. Japan couldve suffered more in the air department if they went with a South Korean subtree, at least with a Thai subtree, you actually get variety and unique modifications.

“Copy-Paste” for one person, is an entirely new vehicle to another.
I’d imagine a very small amount of players have 3-4+ trees fully researched that would make these “copy-paste” vehicles an issue.

Japan and U.S are my go-to trees for air, probably spent about a third of my time flying air sim in japanese aircraft (average battles being ~90 minutes).
I absolutely hate having china either on my or the enemy team. Given the choice, I will join a lobby that does NOT have china in it.
Why? See soviet aircraft as america, expect hostile and fly in to engage. Oh, it’s a friendly. I just wasted a lot of time, fuel and energy chasing a Tu-4 in my banshee/sabre.

Why? See a P-38 lightning at altitude flying my corsair, its iconic silhouette reassuring me my six is covered and I go engage the unknown below me, giving up altitude and exposing my six to the P-38. Suddenly, my plane disintigrates as the P-38 murders me because it turns out it was an enemy!
Why? I see a sabre in my sabre/banshee. I think it’s a buddy. I now get lit up and destroyed because there’s 1 sabre on the enemy team amongst a bunch of migs, while I have to ID a sabre against a sabre without giving up my advantage to face check.
I guess at least the korean war is horribly ruined enough already for copy paste, a bit more won’t make it that much worse.
