A idea to fix the OP 8.7 aa for NATO

just replace the API-T round with AHEAD rounds

this will effectively gimp their performance on ground vehicles (in comparison to what they have now) while majorly buffing their performance against planes where they are kind of lacking.

That fixes… nothing. And creates more holes.

35mm APHE- I mean API works fine even at 9.3 if you feel like giving it AHEAD (even though PGZ09 is 9.0 with AHEAD and more pen API).

AHEAD will make it effectively the best all-around vehicle for the BR, as well as Gepard 1A2 with Stingers.

And holes at 8.3-8.7 will have to be filled with something else, and from what I recall not everyone gets even a single option there.

i mean the main problem with the API isn’t the pen it’s the explosive mass

Yes. They perfrom like full caliber aphe which already massively overperforms.

I hope all the Gepards and Falcons receive AHEAD bro remove CAS from ground battles.

no coils for programming AHEAD ammo

Watch your flanks^^ Its not exactly a Falcon, with flat profile and rather small sized.

Its your own fault, when you miss these huge busses with high up turrets and radar dish on top.

That’ll just move their BR to 9.0+.

They aren’t OP currently.

Same would apply to the Terminator, just aim and get good, it’s not because of the post-penetration behaviour of the 35 mm autocannon and wacky armor model of types like XM-246 that those vehicles are performing very well, better than others at their respective battle rating.

I didn’t know the Terminator was an unarmored large anti-air system with little pen and no missiles.

I might have misunderstood @Thodin latests comments on the vehicle and in contrast to this topic and its reply to it as well.

Those systems aren’t definitely overpowered but does take advantage of in-game issues such like spall eating when comes to damaging (e.g. XM-246 as I’ve mentioned in other topics about) and impossible penetration issues.

A few time ago 35 mm autocannons, specially Gepard’s could force overpressure with long burst of explosive projectiles, if I’m not wrong this issue was fixed as well but doesn’t mean it’s perfect.

it has not been fixed a single shell to the commanders hatch can kill the entire tank in some cases

not a good picture because I can’t access the game rn but aren’t these things at the end the stuff to program timed fuse shells? they have wires connected to them so they aren’t just muzzle breaks

the 8.7 AAs are from completly different time period than AHEAD. These coils are, if im not mistaken, for measuring speed of fired projectile, not for programming programmable ammo that was invented some 40 years after their introduction. The coils would need to look like the one on PUMA, PGZ09 or CRV.

EDIT:

Yours is the standard muzzle break with just laser range finder.

I think magnetic coils for programmable munitions look like this.
