A Better Way to Spawn

Instead of having fixed spawns like we currently do, why don’t we get spawn points across the entire area on our side of the map? It would be randomized and located at the beginning of our side. The spawn indicator would be several arrows pointing forward with the same team colors we use now. Spawn protection would only last for the first few meters, but the area itself would be much larger. It would be impossible to camp such a huge area on larger maps. Of course, this wouldn’t solve anything on smaller maps, but for the larger ones, it would be a great change. It would also make it harder for CAS to find SPAA, since the first thing a CAS player does is check the spawn, which would be much wider this time.

More spawn points would be good as flanking opportunities for camped spawns would be likely. But I think randomizing where you spawn would be very frustrating.

been suggested many times over the last 11 years or so, never going to happen :(

Sorry bud, but it is what it is.

They could be fixed locations, but we need way more of them. That way, campers would have to watch their flanks. The key is having enough spawn points on our side of the map so the enemy team can’t possibly camp all of them. This way, even if they camp points 3 through 6, players could still spawn at points 1, 2, 7, and 8 to flank the camping team. This would force them to split their attention across multiple locations at once, just as a clear example.

I think having multiple spawns would be much better than just a few. The spawn camping issue is caused by the limited number of spawn points and the massive distances between them. Sometimes, one spawn is completely camped while another is free, but since that side of the map falls under total enemy control, they eventually surround the last remaining spawn too. Not to mention maps with only a single spawn point, which are an absolute disaster lol. Maybe adding spawn points along the sides of the map would be a good idea too, anyway, i hope Gaijin adds something to fix this soon.

The following changes should be implemented:

  1. The best and simplest solution would be the introduction of a spawn zone.
The player would be able to position the vehicle freely within this zone, which would also remove the need for a fixed spawn point.

  2. No on-screen warning should appear indicating that a player has entered the enemy spawn zone.
However, the player would still remain visible on the map to the opposing team.

  3. Spawn zones should no longer be displayed on the minimap, as they serve no essential purpose there.

Why is it so hard to change the spawn behaviour ?? This discussion is for years ongoing and there is no progress. Active spawn camping is still possible.

Yeah, it would be a logical solution, spawn points are always too small (in all gamemodes)

again, as previously stated, Spawn locations and camping have been discussed extensively for example:

Such spawn mechanic would be used as justification to make maps even worse than they are now. Absolutely not.

I actually sort of disagree with this.

Random spawning in a bar zone can be as detrimental as it could be good to the game imo- here is why.

  1. Currently the spawn points are designed to protect just the spawn points. Think of a map like Tunisia. If you have to spawn in between the two spawn points currently on the map, you are just blatantly exposed to enemy fire which sucks in its own right.
  2. Sometimes certain spawn points serve certain vehicles better than others. For example, on Fields of Verdun, I feel as though it is easier to take a light tank on the left towards the blimp/aircraft, because you can be in a good position quick. Heavier snipers really benefit from spawning on the right, because they can sit farther back and take advantage of their gun/armor and lack of speed and snipe at a distance instead. If you put a light tank on the right or a heavy tank on the left, they can still perform, but for a player like me that would actively be a disadvantage. Or the same with SPAAG- some spawns have better views of the sky then others. Like on Advance to the Rhine, for the Top spawn on the map, Id rather be on the right spawn then left because it is easy to get into a position with a full view of the sky, whereas the right spawn it takes time for you to get to that position.
  3. Because if you are getting so clubbed that you are getting destroyed in spawn, its a lot more fun to have all the enemy vehicles focused on one spot so that when you spawn its easier to take them all out. But this is a very nitpicky reason that honestly isn’t even that valid.
