literally just want it changed bc nuking the battlefield with freindlies on it would not even slightly be realisitc. Also once again its still ending the game - by making impossible for the enemy team to respawn
If the sirens gave you enough warning that it was physically possible to manage an intercept I might agree, most of the time the siren sounds so late you cant even make it to the battlefield before they drop, let alone manage an intercept.
Yeah, there was a post about that a while back, while the original suggestion had some issues there was some really good discussion refining the idea.
I suggested in the nuke redesign thread they could work a mechanic for a losing team to nuke the battlefield, while a winning team hits the airfield/FOB. Currently a winning team is nuking their own team and the objective they are about to capture, which is non sensical. I can see a losing military sacrificing the last remnants of a defeated force to deny the enemy the objective in some circumstances, but not hitting their own forces when they are winning.
honestly prefer this method, but yeah
I like it bc
- It doesnt straight up end the game
- Even if nuke is dropped there is still comeback chance
- More tactically sound as a process than “imma just nuke my own guys after they fked up the enemy hard already”
- better rewards in some ways(kill credit still obtainable afterwards)
I’m still not sure what the siren is tied to, I used to think that it was the nuke plane getting the take-off bonus, but that obviously can’t be it, now that we have so many airspawns for nuke carriers.
Whatever the reason for late sirens may be, they need to fix it, so it always goes off the instant someone spawns a nuke carrier.
Best thing you can do right now is keep an eye on the scoreboard and spawn a plane pre-emptively, but that’s not always an option.
Depending on the map SPAAs and SAMs either just have a hard time catching the nuke carrier in a rather short timeframe or they don’t have a chance at all because the map is just surrounded by hills (or there are buildings everywhere, severely blocking your LoS).
TBH I prefer the method you mentioned too, the target change depending on if you where winning/ losing was suggested as a compromise.
can they still select the runway as a spawn? there may be some cheese where you leave the gear down or don’t fly above a certain height and you don’t count as taken off yet, which stops the siren sounding.
And there are the bomber DM changes to contend with now too, I have not had to try to down a nuke carrier since those changes but I don’t imaging it helped
You can still manually spawn on the runway, if you leave your tank first
I haven’t played enough GRB since the update to be confronted with that, but I imagine that dropping a nuke in the B-29/Tu-4 and the Canberra/Il-28 would be easier than ever right now
Edit:
If there is no way to fix the sirens, there should at least be a notification in the chat. That would also let planes that already are in the air know, regardless of how far away they are from the battlefield.
- Actually capping objectives and spotting for your team gives you more sp than kills. That’s how I managed to drop a nuke in the Wiesel a while ago.
- Nuke impossible to intercept? Are we playing the same game? 99% of battles end up with 10 planes in the sky 2 minutes into the game, and up until last update, nuke carriers were made of paper and cardboard. And I’m not even getting started on top tier where you get missiles launched at you the nano-second you spawn on the airfield.
- Dropping a nuke on the enemies in blue? Don’t mind if I do, that’s the best part in here!
But then where’s the fun in that?
That’s not what I usually see happen when someone gets a nuke.
Can it happen? Sure.
Most of the time I encounter nukes, it’s someone that got a large amount of kills while playing as a lone wolf and not someone that bothered capping objectives.
I guess we are playing a different game then, because from my experience there usually aren’t a bunch of planes up in the air when someone spawns a nuke and as I’ve mentioned in this thread already, SPAA tend to have a very limited chance or no chance at all to attack the nuke carrier thanks to Gaijins genius map design.
I’ll have to assume that the perspective of someone that delivers the nukes and someone that only ever defends against (or watches allied) nukes are very different.
Most of the time I do, yes, I get it through raw kills, but you can’t blame me when you see how abysmal the map layouts are, where capture points are literally just exposed no-mans-land. However most of the time I see someone else get a nuke, it’s almost always through a combination of kill assist and capture points, because for some reason these give more sp (gotta cater to the normies too, else they’d uninstall).
Now that’s straight up not true, let’s be real now. It’s so easy to spawn cas and go get the sweet sweet revenge bombing (to cover up the skill issue that lead to spawning cas), you have entire teams literally throwing away victory just to get in a plane. It pretty much happens every game.
Did I blame you for that?
As someone that plays way more supportive and objective based than the average player, I can tell you that just capping and assists does not give you more SP than just killing.
I’d argue the nukes themselves are a way to cater to the normies, considering how popular CoD is (or was, haven’t followed that series in a long time)
Also, how would rewarding supportive players that play for the objective instead of for kills be normies? The normies in WT are the “haha funny autocannon go brrrt”, “if I don’t get a bunch of kills, I’ll just leave after dying once” and revenge bombing (T)CAS crowd.
It’s easy to spawn CAS, that doesn’t mean that my experience cannot differ from yours.
Most of the time I watch a team throw away a win it’s because of spawn-camping.
Spawning too much CAS is a lot less common from my experience.
That doesn’t necessarily mean that those planes are up when someone spawns a nuke though and the matches that turn around because of people throwing away a win to spawn CAS almost never end with a nuke from my experience.
Honestly, it should give you the number of tanks you just killed and the number of tanks that were your allies.
Best way to keep unifying the teams to shoot it down.
…just say you’re not good at farming kills bro, we get it, we all once were new to the game, excepted you got more than 1k hours into the game… anyways.
Excepted normies don’t get nukes. So what are you talking about?
Completely unrelated and out of subject.
There’s a billion mechanics rewarding people that play poorly and saves them all day long. I think we got enough of rewarding stupi-- uhm i mean supportive players, they don’t need more :)
Yeah well that’s your subjective opinion. The objective side of things is that ground rb turns into a shitstorm with a billion planes flying above, and getting a nuke to reach the battlefield is not that easy, no point arguing with that.
What are you talking about? You want friendlies to shoot nukes?

Yeah, that’s definitely what my problem is. It’s all just me being jealous of other people getting nukes. You caught me.
Define a normie then.
How? Nukes are basically a killstreak reward and killstreak rewards like the nuke are a CoD thing.
Playing as a team and going for the objectives rather than going for kills only is playing poorly?
Nice one, bro.
It’s not my opinion, it’s my experience.
Weird how often the matches I play end up with only a couple of planes spawning. I must just be dreaming that while sitting in a SPAA.
It’s not hard unless you are too blind and/or deaf to realise that the enemy has a bunch of planes up already.
Finally some honesty!
You want the real or the polite definition? I’ll give you the polite one; an average/below average player (so pretty much most of the playerbase).
And? Didn’t know CoD invented that. Does that mean that spawning planes in ground RB is a CoD like mechanic? For real though! You kill enemies, you spawn cas! See? Same same!
No it’s just terminal cope. “Uhm no guys!! I don’t drop nukes because I’m a supportive player! I would never harm my team with a nuke!”
Well then let me just politely say that your experience is either an exception to the rule or biased. Nowhere close to reality.
If it’s that easy, why don’t you have any nukes? Ohh right, I forgot, you’re a supportive player, my bad.
Besides, going back to the main point, the only thing that should be changed with nukes should be the SL reward. All of the rest is just “i dont get nukes and i dont want you to get nukes because it hurts my feelings”.
Thanks for your insight and this very polite discussion. You definitely provided some great points and weren’t just dismissing basically everything as either other people being “too bad” or your experience in this game being the only way to experience the game.
I’ll keep this all to heart, especially knowing that I’ve been arguing with what appears to be a professional one-death leaver.
I’m amazed that you (at least currently) don’t have a chat ban.
Love you too bub
:) We’ve been doing it already. Friendly, enemy, unless we are losing. That nuke is being shot down.
We’re not asking to delete nukes bruh. We’re asking to rework them to be more logically sound
I don’t think it should be allowed period. Nothings worse than people bringing a tank JUST barely good enough but has a powerful round getting lower SP and high SP/SL when killing tanks. My issues with this is if they can kill me I should be able to kill them and get JUST the same amount of reward. It’s a grey area they need to fix.
