8.3 Germany

The Olifant is uh, very slow, at thirteen and half horsepower per tonne, and with poor gun handling (18 degrees a second horizontal and 4 degrees a second vertical).

The M48A2 has seventeen horsepower per tonne and 24 degrees a second horizontal traverse.

Really though the M48A2 is a (unstablised) M60 analog and should just loose the DM23 and drop down to 8.0, Maybe replace it’s spot in the 8.3 line up with a swiss Pzr 68 or something

I have to admit, I play Britain 8.3 very often, but I never bring that out (even for British tanks it is captain slow). I’d rather bring out the Vickers Mk.3. Though, who plays Britain 8.3 for MBTs, lol. It’s all about the Falcon, ZA-35, ZT3A2.

me Although the Olifant is slow, it’ll bully the hell out of pretty much anything at range, LRF + snappy ADFSDS works wonders at 8.3. It’s my preferred 2nd spawn, though on maps like Sands of Sinai and the fields of x maps its my go to first spawn. (1st spawn - Scimitar/ZT3A2/Vijayanta. 2nd spawn - Olifant/Spaa/warrior)

For sure. I guess for me, I’m really playing that lineup for the Falcon. Small map. Big map. Falcon. Spraying and praying my way across the battlefield. I love how stacked Britain is at 8.3, though. To top things off, the Falcon can penetrate and nuke the Turm IIIs turret from any angle, so it’s just a bad time for Germany all round when facing Britain at that BR.

Gotta have to get used to it until 9.3 where we have the first “fast” mbt khalid in British tech tree lol there is another overlooked one the Chinese ztz59d1 also has dm23 at 8.3 and fully stab, gun handling were so bad though

raises hand

My lineup at 8.3 is Vijayanta, Vickers mk1, Vickers mk3, fox, Strikemaster, ZA-35

Though yeah, I dont take the olifant at all anymore since the upBRing of the Vickers tanks, its rate of fire and turret traverse limitations outweigh having a fin round on a BR where HEAT-FS and APDS are more than enough anyway.

Now as for Germany 8.3, theres a reason I dislike having Germany as an ally from 5.0 up, German players simply do not work effectively in a teamwork environment compared to other nations on average. If I am ever in trouble or mark a position on the map, the least likely faction players to help me are usually German players sadly.

Being German mains is their crime, it is also, their punishment.

I don’t get how one doesn’t take the most up-tier proof vehicle (for Britain 8.3) in ZT3A2. Its ATGM don’t care about BR. Give it a go, you’ll like it. Despite the Ratel chasis.

A meter of pen at 8.3 is wild ngl
Shit’ll go through a 2A7 turret

its unplayable iam fighting with the leopard 1 with basically no armor for a medium tank + no stabilisor and a gun not even that good. Also the Marders are fine with their missiles but a gun is just way faster then the missiles. the bmp 1 is also not realy good with its worse missiles and a gun with insane bulletdrop. Also the Maus on its 7.7 br gets easily uptiered to 9.0 due to the leopard in my deck and its not good eneugh to play on a uptier because of its low mobility and massive turret and hull. In my opinion the german br system should be reconsidert to make it more playable.

Honestly I have to call skill issue here, the Leo is perfectly serviceable tank, it’s perfect for plinking at range.

Ridge peak and abuse the ATGM sight, it allows you fire atgms with just the ATGM launcher sticking out.

Firstly the 2nd ATGM, 9M113, is a little better than the Milan 1s the Marders get, with an extra 48m/s of velocity over the Milans. And second, the gun isn’t that bad, works great against light vehicles.

… Why are you bringing the maus to 9.0?! Heavy tanks in general are incredibly susceptible to uptiers, and really shouldn’t be uptiered in lineups at all

It’s some dumb thing that won’t die - people think the ATGMs are still broken like after they made the missile changes. They’re actually fine and working good.
