Give to maus
This is a 75mm so… probably cant be fored from a 128mm gun
The Maus has a 75mm secondary gun which would be able to fire the shell
Oh thats right!!
I forgor 💀
We will have a 160mm pen heatfs shell and a 128mm gun great buff
Almost certainly not, it loses quite a bit of penetration, velocity, and post-pen.
But I’d love to see it for the Maus at least, would make the secondary gun much more effective against non open-tops
This is the kind of stuff that should have been added years and years ago.
So yes, please, as soon as possible.
I had no idea this shell existed! HEAT-FS from WWII is wild, and I want it right now! +1
Well, it was developed right near the end of the war in Europe and probably wasn’t even used in combat or just in very small numbers.
Same with the sabot shells for artillery pieces.
I had no idea about this one, now Im turbo HARD
edit: this could be really fun depending on how GJ would implement it, I mean damage type of HEAT or HEATFS.
+1 especially for Maus if it existed and worked IRL, which it seems to have (unlike the fictional Maus APHEDS)
The 12,8/8,8 cm Pzgr. TS is not ficitonal. There were tests and production.
Also i dont know if the HEAT-FS was fittet to the L/24 (and L/36) casings. Technically there was also the Gr.38 Hl/C with roller driving band, that also reduces the spin and increases the penetration.
+1 a very interesting round (1.5 Gen HEAT, or 1st Gen HEAT-FS?), would be viable to give it to a limited number of 1945 vehicles where possible.
I think its the first gen Heat-FS, i do not know of a other HEAT-FS.
It’s performance on the Maus is completely fictional, it basically always shattered and would NOT have nearly as much penetration as it does, it’s completely overperforming.
Also not, early tests yes, however with taking high quality projectiles velocitys of up to 1280m/s could be reached without shattering.
Found the Text part again:
Are we positive the round can be fired from all the listed guns?
Documentation is certain the round can be fired from the PaK 40, but the similar 7,5cm KwK 40 is chambered differently (75x714 vs 75x495) to operate better in tank turrets.
I’m not a total ammo nut, but the drawings are of the projectile only correct? So this could just be plonked onto any 75mm casing?
+1, more options for Germany
