Given it’s massive OHK potential, you won’t fail to kill whatever you hit unless you miss or get Gaijin’d.
I’ve spent quite a bit and I consider the gun depression a non-issue as most of the maps are quite flat. Additionally, most tanks are large enough for the IS-2 to hit instead of being car-sized at that distance so that argument doesn’t work.
I’ll grant you that the Tiger l - Not the Tiger 2 - and Panther mantlets can be volumetric hell but I have that happen on a much lower frequency compared to the IS-2. Additionally, claiming Bias is nonsense in of itself is nonsense. We’ve had so much evidence over the years and things continuing to this day that make it clear Bias is alive and well. Just because you want to bash your head into the sand and pretend it doesn’t exist doesn’t make it go away. Playing ignorant to the reality of it is your burden to bear.
Why are you using the 1943 IS-2 to compare to 6.7 heavies and not the IS-2 that’s actually at 6.7?
Also, this is absolutely a skill issue as you have described the T29 as only being killable through the MG port when you can also pen its turret (frontally, couple different spots even), MG port (As you said), and the lower plate AND the side armor if you get a little glimpse at it.
The only version that exists inorder to play online. Same as everyone else. Next question?
Like what, the T-26? That thing is just as bad as everything else in the Reserve/1.0BR range. However, the worst ground vehicles in the game aren’t even Russian - they’re Italian and French.
That thing has a one-up on both King Tigers in terms of rooftop MG - It’s got a 12.7mm instead of a 7.92mm, which is a relatively important bit to mention, imho.
USA isn’t that strong, from the pershings to the M60, its pretty mediocre. For my experience, the 90mm always took forever to reload, one time an IS-2 bounced shells from the top of my turret down into my tank, twice. I died both times. IS-2 shells have overpen capability, and you simply have to aim for weakspots. The T-44 is also pretty good, and once you get to the IS-3 you are nearly unstoppable (for me atleast.)
Germany is also mid. The 90mm can penetrate the turret front consistently for me. the lekpz is just a worse bulldog.
These are my experiences, so if I’m wrong let me know
let’s just pretend that’s true, at best that means that on flat maps the IS-2 is not at a disadvantage. hardly grounds to claim “Russian bias”
sure that makes up for the reload if we assume enemies will always come at you one at a time and never rush you after they see you shoot the 1st guy and that light tanks that don’t fuse the 19mm sensitivity round and require HE to kill reliably are not a thing. The Tiger 2 has enough filler reliably OHK most things. The rare occasion that anything survives a Tiger 2 round is not worth the triple reload time of the IS-2.
Combine that with the muzzle velocity, turret rotation speed, neutral steering and better suspension of the tiger 2 (I didn’t mention these before as they are all small advantages, but they add up to far better gun handling overall).
That may depend on the round being used, I got lots of practice killing IS-2s true the turret as I like nailing the clowns that drive them backwards… that annoys me… and found penning the turret cheeks quite reliable with both British and Japanese tanks Tigers 2s usually aren’t driving backwards so the Japanese HEAT will cut clean through the front plate so it’s not an issue. But with kinetic rounds the issue I often have with the tiger 2 is that if my round so much as clips the gun mantlet its a non pen, and that thing seems like it’s magnetic the way it attracts shots. I would put the IS-2 and the Tiger 2 (P) about on par armour wise.
It’s not like the IS-2 is a bad tank, but it’s not the best and certainly not something you can point at and call bias.
Not rly russian aphe in general doeant volume metric as much
Also the is 2 has decent hull armor and very volumetric turret
And the mobility isnt bad either
The turret being “weak” isn’t really enough for me to care about its plight. It would be a very strong all rounder at 6.3 (mobility/armor/gun) (gun is still good regarding aphe content and general reload/characteristics, it’s just mid af, which is fine for an all rounder tank)
