Where? In my experience they randomly pop up to 4 km away from me and vanish the moment I look away
SARH missiles are one of the easiest missiles to defeat via notch + chaff. The reason why you cant one chaff a sparrow is because it has CW so even if the earlier non-PD radars hang on chaff as long as youre still within the radars scan zone the sparrow will try to continue guiding towards you. The way to defeat it is to just notch the plane which is pretty easy most of the time. R27ERs are the only SARH missile that is harder to deal with due to speed, DL and IOG.
unless this is arcade where it might be +/-1.3 i dont know, ARB is always just +/- 1.0 BR difference. So 13.7s wouldnt see 15.0 in realistic. Again arcade might have a weird quirk about maximum BR zone but arcade is cringe anyway.
well the only stealth plane is F117 which is overall really useless at the BR its at. It can be somewhat effective against OSAs but IR wise a strela which is only 0.3BR above it can just switch to EO guidance and not care about IR. Plus given that i was able to get a solid stinger lock on it with Ozelot when it came out, its kinda just mid.
There is however a different stealth vehicle ingame which is the Comanche helicopter which with weapons bay closed and smallest profile aimed towards an SPAA can actually be invisible to enemy SPAA at the cost of reduced ordinance load. And it works pretty well where i had to do Air Alert callouts in order to find the heli at 4km range since radar wasnt showing anything on ito90
its not. Highest is 13.0 if you bring the top end jets to increase your BR. Its still too low but thats a discussion for different thread.
those are already in the game
Multiple vehicles you listed there are already in the game, such as the SAMPT with Aster 30s and CAMM ER Sky Sabre.
On maps the size of a pea where you spawn within 20km of the battlefield these are not the only SPAAs that would threaten gen 5s. Which also brings it back to the stealth part where depending on how gaijin decides to set up stats for the RCS of gen 5s it could still be useless in WT due to the ranges at which the combat occurs
the only time the R27ER is scary at top tier (so around 13.7-14.3) is when A) its fired from so close that you have no time to evade due to the strong acceleration or B) its on Su30SM2 which can guide from notch or while flying defensive.
Otherwise if you have an Su30SM/Su34/Su27SM trying to kill you at reasonable range with R27ERs while you got ARH, 9 times out of 10 they will die since you can just fire off an amraam and go into notch instantly while they either continue guiding and die or go defensive and stop guiding.
chaff works fine, maybe apart from BOL pods but otherwise you can defeat every ARH missiles (with different degrees of difficulty) by going into a notch while chaffing. If you cant then you probably werent notching correctly.
not really, also very plane dependent. For example notching MICA at close range is way more obnoxious and annoying than notching an amraam or AAM4. Same thing with R27ERs, they are more annoying to notch at close range than something like a sparrow.
Comes down to missile speed and notch gatewidth
Which should make you learn how to notch properly. Id argue that its waaaay harder to notch a Fakour90 at the F14A IRAF BR (i think its now at 13.0, i dont remember) than it is to notch C5 at top tier. Plus vast majority of jets at top tier have either got a lot of chaff or large caliber chaff so thats not really an issue.
Gripens, Typhoons and Rafales dont struggle against “unavoidable BR pressure” lol they are very good at either going fast into a notch or having so much speed that you can just out energy a missile by flying lower to denser air.
Su30SM/MKM, F15C GE and SM2 are also completely fine with SM2 being currently one of if not the best BVR plane ingame due to the radar and SM/MKM and F15C GE have 12 ARH missiles.
The only 4.5 that i guess struggles is the Super Hornet which is just way too slow to give the missile enough initial speed.
not really, as long as the MSL warning is either directly on your side or slightly behind you on the side youre generally fine. Missiles perform better at higher altitude.
you can still be plenty agressive. Especially at 13.7 which doesnt see a complete 14.3 uptier matchmaker on every game.
Well then lets hope that Gaijin doesnt hit us with the “they are not stationed in Germany yet”
I think the mig 1.44 will be added in its intended form just because Gaijin can and historically they like doing such things. Also Russia/USSR does not have many 5th gen options vs let’s say USA.
Perfect form mig 1.44 from what I read about it would be a bit underwhelming.
Also I think where people believe the Chinese where inspired by the project was from what the failure of the project meant to them. Failure of the mig 1.44 forced the Chinese to develop further there airspace industry instead of buying the mig 1.44 which might have been in the cards.
Though the flanker was perfect in every way for the Chinese.
There will be so many J-20s
A topic that might be controversial to the people at gaijin would be to just lower playercount in toptier battles to fix this, even today and in the future. having 16 players in a single game is way too chaotic, and even with smaller team sizes enabled it doesn’t make a difference at all.
I don’t believe its the missile itself.
Putting a number to this, lets say both teams had 16 , so 32 people total, and lets pretend everyone was using the same plane and in this instance the superhornet with a max missile capacity loadout of 14, minus 2 to take out Aim9’s and keep the AMRAAMS. 12 x 32 = 384
At any point in an air battle if every player launched an AMRAAM from both sides, 384 missiles could be airborne all at once
absurd, but if the amount of players were lowered , I believed it would be fixed
Multiple ways to ensure balanced gameplay is have them be expensive base costs. Maybe 1000 minimum but that would be pushing it a little too much, maybe 700-850? Even then with stealth i beleive gaijin would still find a way to mess it up
i know your asking for it cause Russia would only have 1 5th gen and the US already has 2 but The YF-23 would also be a pretty sick addition to the game ngl
Russia could get the Su-75, but that’s a long stretch since it hasn’t even started testing.
Yeah that 1 mite be a little too on paper for warthunder but hey the devs seem to change there standard on these things all the time so who knows.
YF-23 would be great to see too bad the USAF stopped giving there planes such good names. YF-23 might be less op then people think.
would have less missiles than the F-22 and no TVC but to be fair its a lot lighter than an F22 while having about the same thrust i could see that thing being a monster with the right FM
This poster does not know how to notch missiles.
Hmm……🤔
Perhaps you’re thinking of our goals as far lower than they actually are. 😂
5th gen got delayed to next year. If SU-75 does fly this year, there would be a chance of it being added to game
Not today. Engineering starts somewhere brick by brick stone by stone. Tomorrow you will have a castle but one must start today with a well built keep.
every nato country running the F35 will be kinda bland
In any case, the introduction of 5th-generation aircraft will likely trigger a storm within the community.
No matter which aspect of the problem and content
In fact, the F-35 might be the deathkneel to any attempts to buff Eurofighter, Rafale, F-2A because why bother improving those domestic designs to compete with 5th gens and their performance when those pesky nations should instead rely on the F-35?
Im still in ww2 shit right now
