500kRP for a Thermal? China's New Top-Tier SPAA HQ17 and Old TOR-M1

Unfortunately not a lot of people play China.
But Gaijin’s attitude has been unreasonable.

Gaijin tends to overlook reports on Chinese vehicles that would make them better.
And this is not okay.

Agree,as two not folded/separated vehicles on a tech tree, it need to prove its value to the tree it belongs to, if it just a slightly upgraded version of a already existing one, its meaningless. Tor-M1 has it’s pressing problems like slow speed, short range, unable to engage with close targets. HQ17 solves none of them. Lastly, if gaijin really wants to add a new, unfolded vehicle to Chinese tree, there are better options like 630E system or importing HQ17A missile to this vehicle which actually solves problems in Chinese tree, we don’t want to spend tens of hours just to experience the same vehicle with no remarkable rise in proformance.

The HQ17 uses the same missile as the HQ17A, we just need to know how fast the HQ17A is. Unfortunately, there is no clear information yet.

There will probably never be a day when FK-2000, HQ-17A, etc. will be implemented in war thunder because gaijin is quite reluctant to implement anything stronger or equal in performance than Russia by China.
Very sad.

Remember to use English in this area of the forum.

Sigh, buddy, just because it can intercept fast-moving objects doesn’t mean the missile itself can fly that fast. There was no issue with that being rejected. You need to understand that air defense is about intercepting targets, not chasing them. Currently, we have no data proving that the HQ-17 can fly faster. It’s really difficult to get information on active military equipment, and it can easily lead to legal issues. By the way, the issue about the HQ-17 and HQ-17A using compatible missiles was rejected due to insufficient data. :(

Sorry, I didn’t thoroughly read the relevant rules. I understand now. I noticed that most of the comments in this post are from Chinese players, so I communicated directly in Chinese.

Somebody says HQ-17’s missile missing tracer, and wrongly used infrared angular instrument
I’m busy these days and don’t have time to check this in game, can anyone check it and make a issue if possible.

I can have a way to prove the speed of the HQ-17, but that’s a secret, I don’t want to go to jail yet :)

@ATRJX_友直友谅友多闻 considering that this problem will not be fixed in short time, how about change this thread’s name to “Chinese HQ-17 problem discussion”

I know that we need documents to prove the speed of the missile but I want to point out the absurdity of the thing when on Google, it presents the HQ-17 missile with a speed of mach 3 = 1029 m/s and that in wart the missile goes at 885 m/s = mach 2.5 and when we show them a photo of a description of a Serbian HQ-17A, we are told that we have wrong, INCREDIBLE!!

The information on Wikipedia is not accurate; it’s false. It even claims that the HQ-17 still uses the 9M331 missile. The equipment introduction board displayed in Serbia only describes that the HQ-17 can intercept targets moving at high speeds, but this does not mean that the HQ-17 missile itself can fly at such high speeds.

The primary purpose of an air defense system is to intercept targets, not to chase them. The design of SPAA (Self-Propelled Anti-Aircraft) systems does not include the capability to chase targets.

We ourselves cannot obtain detailed information about our country’s active military equipment through conventional channels. Even if we obtain detailed information about a piece of military equipment through unconventional channels and publish it on the internet, this would violate:

  • Article 432 of the Criminal Law of the People’s Republic of China: Violating the regulations on keeping state secrets, punishable by up to five years of imprisonment or detention, or more than five years and up to ten years of imprisonment for serious cases, and more than ten years of imprisonment or life imprisonment for particularly serious cases.
  • Article 438 of the Criminal Law of the People’s Republic of China: Illegally obtaining or possessing state secrets, punishable by up to three years of imprisonment, detention, or control, or more than three years and up to ten years of imprisonment for serious cases.
  • Article 439 of the Criminal Law of the People’s Republic of China: Illegally selling or transferring military equipment (including related information), punishable by more than three years and up to ten years of imprisonment, or more than ten years of imprisonment, life imprisonment, or death for particularly serious cases.

The Ministry of State Security (China) will arrest the leaker within three working days or offer a reward of 500,000 CNY for their capture. This is very unfortunate, and we cannot submit relevant information about this equipment. No one dares to risk whether this information is classified. By the way, the performance of Chinese military equipment in the game is not as good as in reality. This is not an exaggeration. Of course, the performance of a piece of equipment in the game will not be set according to its real-life performance.

I also hope that players in the forum do not submit classified information. This is not good for your country and is illegal.

It’s like this: even I have saved that leaked Typhoon fighter jet manual. It’s so sad that these people take the game too seriously.

Issue for HQ-17’s missing tracer, I used test drive. It would be better if someone has grinded it and can provide a thermal view.
