I find it to be inconsistent. One minute I’ll be one tapping wings and shredding planes, the next I’d dump 50+ rounds and see minimal damage

of all the people i’ve talked to, you are the only one who said that nothing has changed.
It’s very likely the damage output of 12.7mm’s haven’t changed but while chances is that netcode or ping worsened and that’s why the smaller the bullets the less likely they’re going to hit or register for everyone equally.
Well, we can blame not existing changes felt by you and your friends guts all day or start working on the real problem thats sitting in front of the keyboard. I don’t even mean this as a way to diss you, but I don’t get what you are trying to hear from us. I’ve been playing this game extensively for years and years and I can assure you, american .50s work perfectly fine.
Keep on trying and don’t let a handful of poorly placed shots kill your motivation.
If you’re struggling with high ping and other network problems you need to look into that somewhere else maybe
my main problem is having too much confidence on “hitting the body” and believing hitting the body without results once and again will result in a different outcome. (Literally the definition of madness: to repeat the same process expecting a different result)
I think Mediterranean Europe is at the short stick when it comes to EU server ping. A solution I can work on is to not shoot when i’m less likely to be accurate.
I live in germany and often play on US servers and that doesnt seem to really impact my damage output. I don’t think that mediterranean europe is gonna fare worse on EU servers.
without footage it’s quite hard to tell whats the issue here but from what I’ve seen so far when people complained about not doing enough damage with machine guns, most of the time it’s improper aiming (you gotta aim cannons and machine guns slightly different, but also approach your target different).
that makes sense, I usually aim point blank with aircraft with low ammo count and tend to pot shot on long distances with 50 cals before going for a deflection.
I don’t notice difference in damage output consistently with one specific nation or weapon type to support the initial claim that 50 cals specifically are dealing less damage.
What I do notice is that there are SB lobbies where I fly out in my plane, any plane, and send off half second or 1 second burst, and my target disintigrates or at least turns into a fireball. In other SB lobbies, I shoot the same plane from the same distance with the same gun and I only get hits.
Ping and match duration seem to be the only things that seem consistent - which makes sense. There’s desync issues with longer matches, so presumably the visual of a plane I’m shooting is likely desynced from the real deal, causing my shots to fall short/ahead just enough to turn my shots that’d ignite fuel tanks into harmless holes in the tail section.
How bad can desync get? Dunno if this is desync per se, but…
If I see planes doing what that F8F is doing (shaking back and forth, vibrating, vibing, buzzing), it’s guaranteed that lobby will be filled with “hits” and sparks.
Preceeding this formation flight, there was a massive packetloss spike.
