This week we released the Spearhead major update, meaning it’s time for a new camouflage trophy featuring camouflages from WT Live! Of the 40 new camouflage we’ve included, 12 are for new vehicles from the update or from recent events, and following our usual tradition, five are popular camouflages from older trophies. Overall, this trophy features more camouflages for mid and high ranking vehicles, with ground vehicles being the most prevalent, and France and China being more widely represented than usual among nations. In addition to camouflages, you can also earn a unique decal and rare vehicles, all in the form of coupons!
Spearhead Trophy
To unlock the trophy, you’ll need the new “Spearhead” key that can be purchased on the Market for GJN. Read more about the Market and Gaijin Coins on the Wiki.
Camouflage trophies can be earned with a specific probability after any battle with vehicles rank II or higher, with activity of no less than 50% (except for [Assault] PvE mode). PlayStation and Xbox players can purchase the trophy in the Item Shop and open it with Golden Eagles. Read more on our Wiki.
PC players must purchase a key from the Market to open the trophy, with part of the cost going to the camouflage creators. You can activate a key from the trophy on your account or sell it on the Market for Gaijin Coins — just like the trophy itself.
Additionally, all authors who are included in these trophies will receive a unique title, player icon and decal. Join the creative team over on WT Live!
However, I am getting mixed messages here. This vehicle is no longer available for new players, not even for money, and yet it is continuously receiving new updates and now also new skins
It is my view that if the vehicle is historical enough for old players to keep and play them, to receive buffs, and also to be promoted alongside new skins, then it should also be historical enough for new players to research.
Great selection, great selection. Is it possible to suggest user camouflages to be added as Marketplace asset so it can be sold and seen by other players using regular suggestion post?
I don’t think its really fair to put a player made skin that has a barrel that somehow looks like a static png from every angle on devs, especially sicne I’ve never seen anything like that before on the hundreds of skins so far
Absolutely, or give players a chance to research it once a year like the Maus.
I think Gaijin needs to decide what these vehicles actually are. Are they historical mistakes that should fade into obscurity, or high-profile, meta-defining vehicles that can be shown off in official materials?
Right now, they’re trying to have it both ways, that’s what I have an issue with.
