Not the first copypasted vehicles and most likely not the last. These at least have some little varition like thin add-on plates, although mostly just camo nets. Most unique of them is the Sd.Kfz 251/21 with different guns. These three packs weren’t the first as Germany already got the two Tigers and Ostwind II during the winter.
So far all packs have been for trees which didn’t really lack ground vehicles for line-ups. Wouldn’t smaller trees benefit more from such packs? Israel doesn’t quite fit into this as their first tanks are two M-51 Shermans at 6.0. Then again we are soon going to see 6x T-34-85 in Soviet tree, so numbers alone aren’t really an issue.

What do you think? Are there some obvious vehicles which could form such packs? Any ideas of small tank modifications are also welcome into discussion.
I think this is probably the best approach that could be taken with such packs.
Unique vehicle shouldnt be locked behind paywall, unless it is extremely niche prototype/variant and/or possible TT variant also exists (such as current LOSAT. Didnt have the opportunity to grind the event, but im hoping they add the LOSAT on bradley chassis to the TT).
I am with Bees, this pack idea is a great way to not only allow people to get into higher (not top) BR’s while giving them something of a lineup as well as the ability to make some cash. Even I splurged on some of them just to give myself more vehicles to earn some cash with.
I haven’t seen that much talk about it. Most of those people think it’s going to happen within this year, although there are also those who think it won’t, simply because there aren’t that good options to make those packs. One reason why I made this discussion was for people to gather up ideas.
One very easy option for Sweden would be Finnish StuGs. One in tech tree and the other two in the pack.
How shameless of me to show-off my own suggestion, but it’s a good example as these vehicles do have a little bit more than just visual differences, yet they’d still be the same BR.
Japan could have Chi-Nu with Chi-To turret, which is often called Chi-Nu Kai, although it’s not an official designation. Another one for same BR could be a Chi-Nu II without electric turret drive, but turbocharged engine as both of those modifications were coming for Chi-Nu. Is it bit too far fetched? Other Type 60 SPRG and Type 61 tank prototypes have also been suggested. Those would of course be 6.3, but is that a problem?
These all include an SPAA, gaijin went to the trouble of putting a german vehicle in the russia pack (even though the BTR-152D was right there at the same BR) to avoid giving them a “bad” SPAA. But Japan doesn’t have options there aside from the Dusters.
It’ll happen, there’s probably not a lot of hype around the whole thing as any major patch discussion is just dominated by top tier slop. Speaking of which; the only question I have is will Gaijin sell top tier bundles and push US win rates into the negatives.
Goes against the theme of the packs (late 44-45) pushing unique prototypes that aren’t available in the tech tree, I’d probably think Chi-To+Chi-Ri II+Ta-Se for Japan. Or if they go beyond WWII slightly (which would make sense for minor nations like China/France etc.): JGSDF Bundle with 76 Sherman/Bulldog(w/o APDS)/Duster.
The Chi-Ri itself could be considered a prototype, as the actual Chi-Ri II (in-game one was renamed) was more akin to a Chi-To due to size and cost reductions. The Ta-Se would be completely unsuitable since its a 1.7 BR SPAA.
Should tell you how long it’s been since I’ve looked at low tier Japan, swap Ta-Se for So-
ki, that’s the vehicle I was thinking of. No it’s not very effective but neither is the Crusader AA Mk II.
Those could be too similar variations to add otherwise.
Same variations could also work with Chi-Nu (Type 3 Tank Gun) to form 3.0-3.3 pack:
-Chi-Nu with electric traverse and production engine (240hp)
-Chi-Nu with electric traverse and prototype engine (300hp)
-So-Ki (By all logic So-Ki should have 3-5 crew members operating the gun.)
The tech tree Chi-Nu has electric traverse, but with turret traverse speed which would make sense for hand-cranked turret. Snail should decide which one they want. It’s unknown how many vehicles lacked the electric drive.
The last three packs trade historical accuracy for a theme. For Japan that could be something like Godzilla movie.
