Welcome to the suggestion for the 2S19M2, a Russian self-propelled howitzer equipped with a 152mm 2A64M2 gun. This is a modernized version of the original 2S19, which would be notable in War Thunder for its increased rate of fire of 10 rounds per minute. Combined with more modern Russian high explosive rounds such as 3OF64. If you find anything wrong, feel free to leave a comment, or just leave your thoughts!

History

A 2S19M1 during rehearsal for the 2013 Victory Day Parade at Alabino Training Ground, April 12th, 2013.

Entering service in 1971, the 2S3 ‘Akatsiya’ was a key element of Soviet artillery regiments, as well as tank and motorized rifle divisions. However, as NATO countries began to develop further improved self-propelled howitzers, particularly the Western European SP70 with a range of 30 km, Soviet military experts realized the 2S3 would be outranged. A new design was created, to be designated Object 316.

Object 316 featured a new 2A64 L/47 howitzer, which was notable for being able to be used in a self-propelled mount, or as a towed howitzer. It used a hull similar to the T-72 tank, but had significantly less armor. It could fire 6 to 8 152mm rounds every minute thanks to its automated loading system. With the development of new base bleed ammunition, as well as newer types of assisted ammunition, it significantly outranged the older 2S3.

The first prototype of Object 316 was created in 1976, and after a number of revisions and modifications, the vehicle entered service in 1980 as the 2S19 Msta-S. It would continue its service with the Russian Ground Forces following the fall of the Soviet Union. During the Second Chechen War, the 2S19 was one of many guns used to fire on Chechen separatist positions. Since then, it has also been used in the war with Ukraine, with a number captured by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In December of 2013, a new variant of the Msta-S appeared. Designated the 2S19M2, it featured a new 2A64M2 gun designed by JSC TsKB Titan, and an automated ASUNO-M fire control system and navigation system, along with improvements to the loading system, increasing the rate of fire to 10 rounds per minute. This vehicle was showcased for the public at the Russia Expo Arms exhibition in Nizhny Tagil in September of 2013. State testing of the new vehicle had been completed the previous month, and it was accepted for service soon after. Since then, the vehicle has been delivered to Russian artillery regiments, with the Southern Military District receiving them in 2020, and the Western Military District receiving theirs in 2022. Production is done by Uraltransmash under their parent company, Rostec, and while the Russian Ground Forces intends to replace the 2S19 with the 2S35 Koalitsiya-SV, the 2S19 is unlikely to leave Russian service any time soon.

Thank you, I think I got it confused with the original 2S19.

With a factory protective visor and a KSSZ “Nakidka”( “Cape”)…

+1, It looks like it would be a good battle pass vehicle. It looks similar to the “PLZ 83-130,” and the new “Sholef (Israel)” tank

Should see both the 2S19 Msta-S and 2S19M2 Msta-SM2 in-game +1

Did the M2 ever get a Laser Rangefinder and/or Thermals? @ZVO_12_INCH / @OddPhenomena
Could be comparable to the K9A1 VIDAR if so.
