Ok first off: please everyone do NOT turn this into yet another BMPT rant thread, there is already one to use if you need to make your opinions heard: BMPT/72 Should not be 10.3

However, I do want to say that the BR’s that you are playing currently are a “bit” skewed due to the hordes of BMPT players right now. Take everything you are experiencing right now with a grain of salt.

I always greatly appreciate our SPAA teammates, so thank you brother. I do not know a lot about the newest SPAA’s, hopefully you can get some advice from players who know how to use them well 👍

Happy hunting brother o7

Cool vehicles, not competitive vehicles. Only masochists with extreme patience like myself will even bother to try to enjoy the majority of minor nation tanks.

Even I have my limit. I have almost completely abandoned playing my favorite MBTs simply because they’re hilariously underpowered.

Note:

The Gaijin devs have yet to properly address ANY of the threads

And well… the BMPT is the answer to the question too so…

Cool vehicles certainly make matches more interesting!

I agree, but why should I wish someone to play tanks that even I, a seasoned player, struggle to make work, simply because Gaijin prioritizes profit over balance?

and stock ones too. They have not learned from free fpe and parts

Outside of modifications and poor balancing decisions, there are more seemingly malicious decisions. The best example I can think of, relevant to myself anyway, would be the Merkava Siman 4 having its armor underperforming and accepted as bugged for almost 5~ years now.

I say malicious because the vehicle has received several nerfs recently, despite being exceptionally underperforming. Many of which don’t particularly make any sense. The most blatant example of this is the nerf to its turret roof protection. Gaijin somehow chose to make a 200mm Explosive Composite slab spaced off a 40mm internal plate resist only 50mm of explosives, 8 times weaker than before mind you, just a few days after the LMUR was added. Strangely, this nerf was not applied to the side composite, which is composed of the same material.

For reference, this is an image exposing the roof protection of the Merkava Siman 4. Even the most sceptical would not believe this roof is equal in protection to a Type 10, yet Gaijin has decided it to be so.

I do think that gaijin tries to make a certain type of vehicles meta, maybe it’s a lot less work for them.

I hear you, and I do not disagree, however each and every duplicate “BMPT” thread is getting locked. So, since the topic of this thread is his SPAA’s, turning it into yet another dupe BMPT thread will simply get it locked too.

Do this types of last minute nerfs happen often? I’m not one to be knowledgeable on this subject.

I’m not sure what you mean by “last minute” exactly. What I can inform you of, however, is the Merkava and the Strv 122B saw arbitrary nerfs to their roof composite HE protection right after the Russian LMUR was implemented.

This was likely an action taken by Gaijin to assist Russian players, as the LMUR relies purely on HE penetration to kill. With the Merkava’s old composite protection against HE, the LMUR physically could not kill it, and this led to many complaints.

It’s one of many obvious nerfs given to a minor nation for the benefit of a major one. There were no other weapons in the game that this nerf could have assisted. It was, without a doubt, for the LMUR.

Personally I love the feature of free vehicles. In christmass I bought the ZTZ96A (P) and along with the new vehicles I managed to get good amount of kills and even nukes (doesnt matter if vehicles are stock and HEAT).

My lineup:

Vehicles used free:

Free jdam kills, I dont mind.

Since top tier premiums were added.

Its kinda point of no return.

I doubt skilled player can avoid 13 lvl usa wallet warrior teammates at 12.0 or 10.7.

I just ran into a Level 100 player who was ramming me unintentionally for about 2 minutes because he couldn’t figure out how to stop his cruise control.

I don’t think it’s Premium Timmy and his Click Bait all the time.

One death leaving is likely primarily due to a misconception about rewards.
Cause rewards benefit those that stay in the match longer.

Especially when all 10 tech trees have rather good 11.0 - 11.7 lineups.

I personally believe the free vehicles are a generally good idea, though they need to be developed further.

For example, giving people fully-spaded vehicles and decent (like lvl50) crews. Also adding aircraft slots in the same manner like Naval does.

If this game claims to be combined arms, it should non-negotiably be combined arms for each and every player. Then if everyone has the potential means to go use and/or counter CAS by default, with the option of grinding more of your own to use, then nobody has an excuse to complain about it anymore unless there are actual structural problems that can be clearly pointed out (for example, the kill cam making revenge killing too easy, thereby encouraging revenge bombing).

This free vehicle feature, if properly developed, could be the most effective anti-whining feature the game needed like 10 years ago. People get so irrationally angry at CAS that they rarely stop to think about the larger picture of the overall problem, instead hyper-focusing on “plane kill tonk, tonk can’t shoot up at plane EZ, therefore plane OP, nerf plane” logic.

Well you have the UCAVs that were added long ago. I think they can improve them with better ammunition at higher brs. Maybe even an AC-130?

The same could be said by the 3rd person view. Realistic battles still arcade like, you can play sim battles if you want full realism.

UCAVs are part of things, but they are only for high tiers, and are only unlocked via a modification upgrade. I suppose they could get better ammunition, but Hellfires or equivalent munitions already have little issue destroying things to my understanding.

Naval’s default aircraft feature is available at all BR ranges to bone-stock ships.

The AC-130 would be a sitting duck, which only worked in reality because it was fighting people usually lacking shoulder-launched SAMs. Then CoD made it look way better than it actually was.

Removing either mouse aim controls or 3rd person cam from planes is simply a non-starter, because those features are why WT got off the ground - they made it easy to get into and intuitively understand.

Also the idiotic kill cam exists even in Simulator, unless something has changed since I last played tanks in Sim.

The last few seconds of the kill cam showing the shell entering your tank are fine. Showing a snapshot of the opponent’s position is not. Having planes spawn in midair at high speed is not, when nearly all planes are capable of airfield takeoff and the few that aren’t almost never get used in tank matches.
