Vought F7U-1 Cutlass

Hello all! I’d like to suggest the Vought F7U-1 Cutlass for US aviation in War Thunder. The F7U-1 was a carrier-based fighter produced in limited numbers, with only 14 airframes built by the Chance Vought Aircraft Company for the US Navy. It became the Navy’s first tailless production fighter jet equipped with swept wings. The F7U-1’s service life was very brief due to the infamous underpowered Westinghouse J34 turbojet engines and numerous maintenance issues. It marked the beginning of the F7U Cutlass family, an aircraft that would later earn nicknames such as the “Gutless Cutlass,” the “Ensign Eliminator,” and, more positively, the “Praying Mantis.”

look’s cool

More very early jet fighters would be awesome to see flesh out the early Cold War part of the tech tree

watch them make it a event vehicle the F11-F1 or F4D both active service vehicles locked behind paywalls like on the market place or grind the event 7 years ago

+1 tho would love it to be added

+1, I like weird early cold war stuff. I think the F7U-1, while extremely problematic, looks so much nicer and cleaner than the F7U-3M; simply due to the canopy being much more streamlined on the F7U-1 and base F7U-3.

Coming to early rank VI, place before F3H-2

Battle rating 9.0 (Air AB, SB) and 8.7 (Air RB)
