Why did multiple plates get penetrated then? Why is it in war thunder 3bm42 gets stopped? I’ve seen the testing with Duplet it degraded the projectile 60mm in… So why did multiple backing plates thicker than 60mm get penned? The ERA simply isn’t worth the 400-500mm ke that people said and that’s okay. But it really goes to show how fast people jump the gun.
I feel like if you add the T-14 with proper modeling it wouldn’t be too crazy unless the APS is swatting down APFSDS 24/7. But like IRL it’s supposed to degrade and destabilize if it can intercept a dart. If it’s aimed at the turret the modules will still take damage…
Maybe with APS the hull can seem insane. But still I cannot see 1000mm KE happening with the layout we know of. Thickness matters as a hard limitation. You can’t have NERA that’s adding up to 1.75 RHA vs KE. I’ve yet to see space science materials of that sort. So LOS thickness alone isn’t the only metric but it’s an important one… Do not FORGET.
For starters we don´t know what was being tested -or not- in that specific instance. The paper/article in which the pictures and drawings were part of was dealing with simulation for research purposes. That the test protrayed X type of armor vs Y type of projectile is just an interpretation mere mortals make with very limited actual information of what was what.
On second place, the tank isn´t ingame yet. There is a user mod with the tank and whatever goes there its the user´s own knowledge/speculation and nothing more. Not indicative of what Gaijin will do.

There are photos from the manufacture of the ERA where it failed to degrade or stop successfully the round form penetrating at least two of the 3 and the 3rd plate we never saw… So again, idk where tf you’re going with this one chief…

By what testing? Vs what ammunition? Who’s doing the testing? Under what condition? Where on the tank is that the metrics? And under what conditions? What angle? So many questions.
