well, this is not a very good example.
also, smaller turret with very limited protection also saves a lot of weight. for tank’s weight, it’s just about managing what need to add and what need to cut off.
but yes, 35t is still a surprise for everyone, most guess is 40.
in this situation, battery isn’t the main power source, won’t be so heavy, most time the engine drives the generator to power the motor. and for lithium iron phosphate battery, it’s not so dangerous, when it’s hit, it just smoke and heating, about 300℃, diesel also burns so it’s acceptable
I don’t think so. the combat weight(战斗全重) means fully loaded with everything in Chinese standard.
Between the rotating interceptor craddle and the charge autoloader Trophy gets rather heavy. GL-6 is just the mount + rocket based interceptors. Iron Fist (same overall phylosophy) is also credited to being significantly lighter than Trophy, only not adopted then because it was less mature.
As a side note; as no one has made any attempt to make a suggestion for either (ZTZ-100 / ZBD-100), I’ve made a suggestion for both vehicles of the Type 100 chassis recently, may take a little for approval though.
Besides armour values (I am aware of mentioned ones), I am surprised how much there could be find online.
The purpose of this thread is to facilitate the gathering of info on the Type 100 tank to make it easier for anyone willing to suggest the tank or make bug reports after its introduced. TBH there is not enough info out there to model the tank ingame for the moment.
It doesn´t depend on wether the system is in service or not just the amount of info available about it. For 2S38 we had a basic hull that was in service for about 3 decades and was widely known and a weapon station with a lot of promotional material giving out every metric needed to represent it ingame. Thats not the case yet for Type 100 though I suspect that during this year a lot more will be unveiled. Already having key data such as armor values do help a lot. But we are missing a lot others, for example how many shots it can carry and what its autoloader is actually like, for example.
