XM246: The American Gepard!

It does not have AP, at least from the historic standpoint the round that Gaijin labeled as AP is not AP.
And also from historic standpoint it does not have its real life AP.

… So does the XM246 last I saw.

What was its irl AP?

SPAAs at a lower BR have more rounds of ammo with more pen…
The AP-round (DM-13) of a Gepard can barely pen a T-series tank from the side (only at the wheels and only at 75/80 to 90 degrees)

And the 246 would also have this round, as all other Oerlikon KDA guns have.

it never had experimental proximity shells afaik, those were something oerlikon made and was so bad in terms of effective range none were bought either, as far as i know that’s how it went, cuz info its pretty limited

100mm WHAT

Just what you see. South African manufacturing at its finest.

autocannon rat time after the update comes out

35mm gun, 100mm of pen… at 1000m
HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE
EVEN WITH APDS THATS NOT POSSIBLE

This sentence hurt me on more than one plane.

You need AP to insta kill planes by hitting bombs or pilot, removing AP will just nerf spaa, which at 8.0+ with helis is a huge nerf

IRL the ZA-35 has a round that’s APCI-T that allegedly has 100mm pen at 1km range

it would be bloody mental if we got that, Falcon but fast and radar guided
not to mention it should have a (probably) Gen 2 thermal imager IIRC
would easily be 9.3 in that state

Look slightly lower

it is either 1 or 2, but im leaning closer to 1 as of now.

Greeting from creator of both reports ;)
