You how gaijin it is. Probably future addition for next gen missiles
anything fore playtime huh
indeed
i mean yeah, but if all the other nations got the next gen missile platforms last update, why did this useless filler get added?
Exactly like you said.
Gap filler
I personally honestly don’t mind a gap filler, but i hope they would designate it as such in that case and then at least folder the next one so that it isn’t so much RP to unlock.
Re-naming this one we got to JAS39E (prototype) and not giving it the best things but maybe giving it some things that the in-service version doesn’t have (like the spice bombs for example) would at least make it a bit unique if they decide to add an in-service version later with all the upgrades and modern missiles.
Also, there is already a thread for this vehicle:
We have a correct Gripen E in-game.
My suspicions are that the newer wing is standard service, but Saab isn’t giving me evidence at this time.
However, if my suspicions are wrong… this is the issue:
There are 4 separate Gripen E variants IRL.
1 without IRST.
1 with IRST.
1 with new wings without IRST
1 with new wings and IRST.
Edit reorganized post to make things easier to understand.
It will be rank 9, so 500k :P
400k, it doesn’t change.
Phantom FGR2 12.0 Rank 7 = 350k
Tornado F3 12.0 Rank 8 = 400k
Tornado F3 Late 13.0 Rank 8 = 410k
Typhoon AESA 14.3 rank 8 = 420k
Assuming a minimal difference in BR but a bump from rank 8 to rank 9. Then I would guess it would be 470k-480k based upon the prescendent of previous ranks increasing RP cost.
If it also got a BR increase, perhaps due to better weapons. I could see that adding another 10-20k, so 480-500k RP cost if they added another Gripen E at Rank 9 would actually be a reasonable expectation
Nope, it’ll be 420k.
Lower ranks drop in rank.
Now that I know you’re newer to the game, rank 6 had 400 - 420k back when that was top rank.
Now it’ll be rank 9 that has 420k.
We have a prototype not a production model and given all new and current production models have the extended wing its safe to say that is the current production model.
Regardless the name Gripen E doesn’t apply to the 6002 as its a prototype and its name should reflect that or it should be changed to the current production models in service with Flygvapnet
@Pheonix_RX01
Your post is conjecture. So fix that.
I want hard evidence proving my suspicions about Gripen E’s new wing being standard.
I want the new wing more than you.
The 6002 started as a testbed showcasing what the Gripen E could be and is not an accurate representation of the model in service with the Flygvapnet currently, if you can find an image of any if the current Gripens that just entered service with the short wings then go ahead. But all currently made Gripen E’s have those extended wings.
You routinely seem to claim to be right on everything regardless of if someone shows you evidence otherwise there is no reason to continue this discussion with you because you will swap to whatever fits your intent to change the subject like you did with the Finnish F-18’s.
Any pings will be ignored once more as you are simply incapable of basic conversation on any subject of the matter
@Pheonix_RX01
Well, since you refuse to provide evidence proving my statement correct about the newer wing being service, and my suspicions of it being standard service, I must continue to wait.
If you want to disprove my suspicions, you need documents that prove the “short” wings are still an option for customers.
From what I’ve seen, the posts Saab posted on Facebook of the in service gripen show them with the new wings
Careful, Phoenix is about to tell you you’re wrong for agreeing with me.
They do all have the new wings even the new F-39’s for Brazil have been shown with the new wings

This was the most recent show of the newest Gripen E moving in Brazil
Again we just haven’t seen the notched wing in any of the recent models
This is actually one of the first F-39’s to Brazil my bad (i have this saved for a bug report on the incorrect wing layout when landing) this has the notch which is only seen in early F-39’s and the Gripen E testbeds like 6002.

Its really hard to see given the angle but yeah of the new Gripen E’s delivered they all have the extended wing

@kizvy this is from the most recent delivery for the Flygvapnet
