Why US top-tier CAS still fights with 1970s weapons while Russia uses 2020s missiles in the same?

yeah i dont know what the guy that made this is on about anymore, but GBU-53 has been having severe warhead issues that SPICE 250 does not suffer from

As far as I am aware, both are affected equally

no, the GBU-53 is HEAT but SPICE 250 is HE

As far as I’m aware, AGM-53 is the closest to the Kh-29 and Kh-38 in terms of speed, guidance and warhead. The project was cancelled in favour of the AGM-62 instead.

Here comes the argument of “OH RUSSIA HAS THIS” or “CHINA HAS BETTER”, most of these weapons have been barely used or are so secretive its a wonder if they even exist. When it comes to Stand off munitions the US has the most advanced with China being a close second. I love seeing Russian media cling to the idea of there equipment being as good as they say it is.

Not just pointing out your false equivalency, these are nothing alike the kh38 or kh29… want something that could fall under a similar weapon as thise… agm 53 or the AGM-88E which also have an ir seeker

With the shorter range yes, but if where comparing raw speed and accuracy the russians fall behind.
Especially in Joint stand off munitions or hyper sonic air launched munitions.

The are nothing alike either, they are gps guided weapons, not tv or ir…

Again if you want something actually simialar to those, you have the agm88e/g or the agm 53

TBF in game radar munitions are very in accurate, in reality you can track using radar and still identify the target using different systems like Anti Rad pods to track radar signals. So using anti rad you can find the target then slave it to GPS lock or radar lock then fire the missile.

What “radar” munitions? Those that you mentioned are gps guided, the agm 53 is TV/infrared, like the kh29T/Te or kh38MT

This isnt close but the AGM 84E with its IR tracking is similar, the only difference is speed and that it flies low to the ground before hitting the target.

And that it has MILT unlike the kh38

My point was in game radar munitions wont work, because ground radars in game dont work like the should, instead of mapping the ground they act like TWS with clutter you can filter out.

In reality you can slave missiles to radar and use cameras on the aircraft to confirm the target then fire.

There are no “radar munitions” in game

Which Russia and China has, I’m particularly impressed by China’s achievements on missile industry if we can say in that way. Regarding the secretive weapons, these are so secretive that even appeared on Reddit. Or by searching.

It’s safe to say that we can hold the same skepticism regarding the American weapons industry for something new given their failures in the recent years like the Constellation-class frigate or the M10 Booker the best example I can give you. Which for example the HACM, it’s just a mock-up on today’s age, you can’t have a mock-up in serial production that it’s not even a prototype by 2027.

The KH38MT didnt get MITL, only the KH59M and KH29TD got MITL

Thats literally what i said…

It didnt, only the kh59 got MILT,

I think they should allow triple stacking AGM 65Gs on planes that have them like how the AGM 65D works even that would be a huge buff

then they should give nato some comptent SPAAs cause only 2 SPAAS are good right now at there job in Nato its just the italian and french SAMP-T thats it IRIST dog water Nasaamer dogwater and sky sabre abysmall

next buff rewards back for air craft as they shouldnt be half the reward of a kill when i have to get 1500 SP to spawn it no need for this blind nerf most likely meant for helis but targets the planes too

then buff aircraft kills via SPAA to same as a tank

What I think they are referring to is adding proper ground mapping radar and SARs to aircraft, allowing for more accurate targeting of GNSS or LOAL (MITL) weapons (or heck, even just unguided weapons using CCRP), Rather than just the GMTI that only works at short range, against a target that is moving, some of the time.

and better weapon to radar slaving than what we have.

Lock a target via SAR/GMTI/GMR, and fire. Even if the weapon itself is GNSS, SAL, IIR or TV guided

CAPTOR-M is capable of 30cm resolution SARs with target ID, which would work against even a static target. Cant imagine what CAPTOR-E can do.

Though the value of this has been reduced quite a bit since we got map target points and now aiming points, basically what it can do is largely what I was hoping to get out of GMR being added to aircraft that had it.

Let alone slaving to other system too, like RWR, another thing more than a few top tier jets can do. But for now I would settle for everyone other than the soviets getting built in ESM that doesnt take 2 years to scan a target

Hmm yes, love this argument but your comparing a Chinese ground launched hyper sonic which isnt what was being discussed, second the booker being the disaster it was isnt really a relatable to the United States modern vehicle production. The XM8 which is an older platform was also cancelled after passing its trials. This doesn’t mean the US cant it means its better to upgrade already existing platfroms to match the standard. The US is able to produce modern weapons as we see the AIM260 being field tested.

All of these have gone from prototype to full scale production in just 5 years except the bradley which is still being field tested.
