Yeah, a video game that sells realism as part of their charm. If merkava CE protection is the biggest selling point then so be it, swallow the suffering. I don’t whine when F-16AJ or Phantom EJ Kai can’t use napalm because they indeed didn’t use napalm (which makes me curious why tf does F-15J have BLU-27), why israeli main must whine when their anti-CE munitions tank can’t save themelves from KE munitions?

Yeah, doesn’t mean a bloody thing. Churchills, Matildas, and other “infantry” tanks suffer in lower BRs because they were designed to protect infantry, not fight other heavy tanks. “But but I get 6 gorgillion kills in muh Churchill, skill issue” good job, doesn’t change the fact that they are heavy, slow fortresses that were designed to protect infantry, not fight other tanks. Merkavas are similar: designed to fight infants… I mean infantry, not fight tanks.

Fair on every point. That being said surely a pure CE armour can’t be better than full anti KE armour. Merkava main should just cut the whining and play their GRB lineup to their strength: Using planes.
Yeah i agree Merks only fight against human made RPGs but that doesn’t change the fact that they’re 80tons which makes it the heaviest main battle tank in the world, you can’t just say that 80tons is just straight up made to protect again Kornet and RPGs, you can also go ahead and check the old threads about this matter they posted reasonable sources.
80 ton of CE screen will not increase your chance to survive a DM63 to the face. Again, stop whining, strap that Ra’am and Barak to your lineup, go cap a point with namer, get an assist and a kill, then spawn the goddamn plane.
I think that what he meant to say is that 80 tons of tank with only CE protection is not very reasonable. Although they might have been built to be protected against CE projectiles, it doesn’t mean that it can only take CE rounds (logically speaking). That is taking into account that he said 80 tons. Whether it’s 80 or 65, I won’t fight about that.
I know. all im saying is 80 Ton of Composite armour with focus against DU and Tungsten dart will infinitely perform better than 80 Ton Anti-Chemical protection.

There is tons of bug reports showing it does have it and great one (germany military man said its on leo level)
Also idf stated it can stop every threat in the region which means it can stop ke-w on egypt abrams

I mean Merks have seen combat lately but all of that happened against hand-made RPGs.
It’s clear that they were designed for urban environments going mainly against CE threats, so their KE protection is up to debate.
For balancing reasons they could receive a buff to their KE protection, but suddenly making it the most armored tank against KE makes no sense.
This is why the most effective tactic for israel main is to just quit whining and fly the goddamn plane.
Why exactly? The Leo 2A7 has relliable turret and hull armor, the same way the STRV 122+. The Abrams also has relliable turret armor and an UFP that sometimes bounces shells. Why does the Merkava have to be doomed to having paper armor all around while also being the biggest MBT?

The Abrams’ hull can survive direct hits to it? At least two-thirds of it can’t, and neither can over half of its right turret (in game, at least). I agree with the rest, though.

Keep in mind its slower than a CR2 (somehow still faster than the T/OES LMAO)
If it got turret and UFP armor that stops all darts in the game then I’d lose it’s biggest con by far. At that point it would be the strongest tank in the game, as it would have other advantages over tanks like 2A7, such as no weird depression angles blocking your barrel from going down, being able to side scrape much more effectively due to the engine in the front, 5s reload, etc.
Considering Merkava 4s have 22-23 HP/t only the 2E would have slightly better mobility than them, while other Challengers would be far behind in mobility department.
