Why is war thunder going to add the super yamato that was never built but not add the Tirpitz each nation got sisters ships except the USA USSR Japan already have 2 yamato classes

No, and the devs have never once said they’re even considering adding A-150 at the time of writing. OP just got fooled by Gaijin’s “passed to developers” chaff and decided to post a lie on the forum, then didn’t correct it.

As it stands, all we have to go on is precedent. Every single ship that has been added to the game since naval came out had at least part of the hull built. A-150 did not. The only reason it was accepted as a suggestion is because those guidelines are different and allow for ships that had any unique part of it built. In this case, it was the guns.

The devs have officially stated that ships with parts (IE A150’s 51cm guns) or as little as a part of the keel laid down would be added.

This means H39, maybe H40. A few other Soviet BBs, etc.

It’s not like we can’t see an A140 with 51s either as they were designed with the potential upgun in mind.

That also means we’ll eventually get the fourth Yamato sister, who was laid down but never named.

I wonder if the tirpitz will come this year

Show me where it was officially stated and not just “passed to developers” guidelines.

Maybe. I couldn’t say.

You could just as easily search it yourself instead of asking to be handfed. Given there’s well over 15 ships that never made it to completion in the game.

Also google’s being a pain in the ass as I try to find the exact post.

Its not a fake russian ship so no

this is as close as an official statement as you’re gonna get (afaik)

Spoiler

[QA] Answers from the developers - News - War Thunder

so far the ‘standard’ has been that the keel had to be laid, don’t think they have gone down the ‘some part/weapon was made/trialed but no keel laid’ route, at least to my knowledge

Addendum from the suggestion forums which fits the initial statement you posted.

Edit

Based on both posts, A150 fits this criteria.

As does all the ships in the game that weren’t finished in real life

Yes, this was my point, thank you. All precedent is only for laid down vessels.

I’m aware of the suggestion guidelines defining a prototype as having parts built. The only people who have ever officially stated that are the suggestion moderators who post the “passed to developers” as a performative gesture. Sometimes, they pass the same things multiple times, and they frequently even pass things like poorly thought out one-paragraph suggestions for anime collabs that will never happen. These are not developers.

As far as I’m aware, the actual developers have never officially stated that ships which never had even a partial keel are allowed.

Gneisenau has 38cms equipped which only ever existed as a paper proposal as Germany realised before any initial work starting that it would require way too much work.

So if you want to stretch it a little bit; we got paper Gneisenau. Who is also a menace in the 7.x bracket and one of the single best ships of said bracket.

the Devs have Publicly stated and several times PROVEN that the only thing that matters for (russian) Naval additions is that the Hull was laid down, it can have been 0.01% completed but if it was laid down then that is enough

Correct. Now once again, it had the hull laid, just like Sevastopol which is also based on a paper design which was eventually changed during construction to incorporate the domestic 12" and would not have been built. Amagi is largely paper as well, being based on a 1919 design instead of the finished one, and I’m pretty sure even that is modeled wrong. So, all of these ships are represented in paper configurations, but the keels existed.

You’re totally right that Gaijin could at any moment add something with only a couple parts built. I’m not arguing that. I was only saying that we have no official confirmation from specific devs and I think Gaijin is keeping quiet about it because they want options to add things based on their twisted idea of game balance or what they think will encourage people to grind.

but then when you agree with us why do you argue against that?

It sounds like another description of the terrible isekai.

Which ship was .01% completed?

Germany has the most uncompleted ships in its tech tree and one of them is even a premium (Z47). If you’re going to make up claims at least make ones that aren’t easily disproven with even a minute on google search.

By my count, both Russia and Germany have seven total across their tech trees, so they’re tied. The US and the UK have none. Japan and Italy both have two (three for Italy if you count Cavour as an incomplete refit). France has one as well

I did a count not long ago and germany was the overall, ill do another one today to double check

Just thought I’d bring this to your attention since you mentioned seven, ParryACO is correct yet this is the current full list, I’ve a larger list if needed.

• VS-10, Hydrofoil

• SMS Mackensen, Mackensen class Battlecuiser

• SMS Ersatz Yorck, Ersatz Yorck class Battlecruiser

• SMS Sachsen, Bayern class Battleship

• Gneisenau, Scharnhorst class Battleship, main gun refit

As comparison.

Z15 I know Gaijin has listed it as a project ship, but I’ve found conflicting information on whether that’s accurate, so I didn’t count Z15.

I’ll give you VS-10 if we’re going to count coastal as well.
So yes, it seems I was incorrect. Sorry for that, then counting Coastal, its 8 for Germany versus 7 for Russia/USSR

As a quick note, in-game, Erevan is modeled according to the designs for Project 48-K

As for Z15, I too did find conflicting information originally when looking into it, yet since it’s labelled I must place it on the list as just my luck someone brings up the ,project part.

As for VS-10, I count all ships, the names of the research branches are meaningless & prior to 2020 they were only one tree. I recently re-did this list with VS-10 after finding out new to me information that it wasn’t in fact finished (launched, fitting out, but ultimately bombed in an air raid).

I forgot to put the -K on the list, my bad.
