Why dosent the F-14B have its historical weapons brah

My bad, i misremember the upgraded engine from A to D. But point is, F14D is a much better platform for Aim-120 and 9ms especially with the better radar. Still dont know why the B doesnt get 9m even at 13.0 tho.

irl AIM-54Cs are still ok for hitting against fighters if you focused to long range BVR fights(40 to 100nm).

They made it F-14s are awful because they doesn’t model or just incorrect lot of things, like PAL mode on AWG-9, lofting, rocket motors, different missile active conditions, etc.

In mid/short ranges, AMRAAMs are ways better.

Legacy is the only real reason. It absolutely should have aim-9Ms right now at 13.0.

D model was impossible to launch AMRAAMs.

AFAIK, Navy or Grumman tested but, it was just separation test, not guiding to bandits.

Yeah… 1989 SAC listed AMRAAMs but, it was pre service documents and SAC occasionally makes mistakes in descriptions related to weapons or sensors, just like F-14As 1977 SAC.

More justification than some planes got for their missiles.

Shame that Gaijin ignore reality with their own rules.

D model with AMRAAMs are same level of fake with regular B model and JDAMs.

no it didn’t

The F14A used for AMRAAMs testing had avionics and radar systems similar to the F14D, so technically, it could also use AMRAAMs. The U.S. Navy was already phasing out the Tomcat, so the project was never goes any further. There’s technically nothing stopping Gaijin from giving the F14D 120As, while we at it, gave it JDAM too.

There’s no evidence that the Iranian F14’s R27 were ever usable, yet Gaijin added them anyway.

Separation test doesn’t mean they can use AMRAAMs.

From NAVAIR manual for pilot/rio and ground crew, there are literally no mention about AMRAAMs. If they could use that, manual should mention about HUD/VDI and HSD symbols at the least.

Which is removable because computer can’t handle R-27Rs since they started using A2A Hawk.

AFAIK, they can use A2A Hawk because Iranian F-14A still has unused AIM-7F guidance system.

The only reason preventing me from reporting it is the NAVAIR 01-F14AAA-1A(IR) manual.

Yep and also 7P. Thought 7P should be a later sparrow to be copypasted to everyone but they keep it only for f18. strange

i mean the AIM-120A was a concept for the F-14D, Other jets in the game have concept missiles that they never had so i really dont see why they dont just add the F-14D or just give the F-14B the AIM-120A and bump it to 13.7

Gaijin actually does everything just to not do what the community ask for, it’s crazy.

Exactly, thats what i mean by Gaijin has aleady addded missiles to jets that dont even have them so why give the F-14B it’s real ordinace. The F-14B is currently unplayable brah

Tbh, if gajin sticks to not adding the F-14D or just giving the F-14B it’s real weapons, I dont see any need for the F-14B to be at 13.0, its buns and not any better than some 12.7 jets.

Yeah, that’s my fault, might have been the D model.

yeah exactly, Giving the F-14B its actual weapns will make it 13.7 worthy or most likley 13.3
