Why does the rafale keep receiving buffs every update?

They should’ve just added the Rafale M instead (heavier) and an earlier variant as well, the Rafale would be much less op with no hmd, no irst, a pesa and only 6 missiles

HMD and IRST has been tested and/or used on every variations of the Rafale, so gaijin probably would have added both anyway. PESA, 6 missiles, and more limited A2G armement would have been the main differentiator with the currently implemented rafale.
Also, I agree, I much prefer the Rafale M (big Navy fanboy), and it would have been more balanced as well by nerfing its dogfighting performances

EDIT : Rafale MF1 did not have IRST, still tested HMD. I’m not considering it since I think it’s very unlikely it will be added to the game. It has limited armement overall, with only MICA IR and Magic 2 if I recall correctly (no ground armement), and I don’t think there’s any world where it’s correctly balanced

On the pro 4 v4 scene people are taking the Mirage 2000 purely for the MICA missiles
I’m sure the Typhoon and Rafale are banned or they would fly the Rafale instead of the Mirage 2000

The F.1 didn’t have OSF so no irst, and afaik the hmd was first tested on some F.3 variant

rafale F2 would be decent degrade/nerf to get more comparable to the other 14.3s if they are not planning on increasing the max br to 14.7 or 15.0

This is what one of the guys in the number 2 ranked team for the tournament scene said about the Rafale:

That was 4 months ago and the Rafale has only gotten better since then.

Realistically, the Rafale should not be any lower than 15.3 atm. It should not be allowed to see anything except the current 14.3, and even then, those jets basically cant fight it either when equal pilot skill is considered.

The current state of the Rafale vs other 14.3’s is equivalent to what’s expected of jets fighting with a full uptier/downtier comparison. The fact the Rafale is allowed to see early 4th gen jets that dont have any fox 3’s and have 40+ y/o radars and RWRs is absolute insanity.

*LF.1 didn’t have FSO

See my edit for the IRST.
As for the HMD, the Scorpion HMSD was first tested on the F3R, but other HMD were tested as soon as the MF1, or at the very least the F2 standard, just like the Mirage 2000-5F in game

Good job they buffed the rivals to even the playing field…Oh wait

MMhhh, I think I also confused it having only MICA IR with it only having MICA EM

MICA IR weren’t even available until F.2.1 entered service.

Oh really? Alright then, though where do you know that from? The sources I check claim the osf was implemented on the F.2

always found it strange that when storm warning dropped they added the rafale with the newest AESA radar model available instead of the PESA. But the E2K only got its early mech radar instead of a comparable AESA

Eh who knows… it makes no sense obviously, would be like adding the F-15E before the F-15A, but Gaijin doesn’t follow logic

True, though the F.1 should not get that for balance reasons, the flight model is op enough.
The idea of an earlier Rafale is literally to have a lower br option since the F3R will just keep going up with the meta for quite a while

Same, I had to say I was dumbfounded when they stated that the AESA was not a mistake. That instantly meant Rafale F3R with all the quirky things attached, such as the 8 MICA pylons from tests and export.
They should have initially downgraded the radar to PESA, just like they still name the plane the Rafale F3 in game, not F3R. F3R is not an F3, just like F15E is not an F15EX, just doesn’t make sense they somewhat consider it like that in game
