Why do you like ground Realistic?

It’s almost as if it isn’t already divided with those in Arcade making essays on the forums on how people enjoy Sim and RB cause they do not want to learn how to aim. With a few of them I’ve noticed being the same ones who blindly drive not knowing there’s one to their left and immediately getting killed for it.

Unlike you, I do not give a damn if my stats are public, also the fact you even mentioned ULQ a person who’s infamous on the War Thunder Forums and considered a literal meme for making essays or rant forum posts that even the admins and moderators had to step in because they were that bad, and all of that started because he refused to listen to the simple fact that a tank only GRB gamemode does not work in game and never will, the Admins, moderators, and even the developers have all said that it makes no sense.

So don’t try to correct me on something I have experience in on both Air then ground in both AAB->Now GRB and heck even Sim. To backtrack for a moment, I focus on Support, I do not focus on frontline engagement. That is secondary to me. It also means I will not perform as well as others nor do I care.

Now I have and will attempt to assist others in learning the fundamentals of Realistic battles but if they refuse to learn and continue using the knowledge they gained from playing Arcade then I cannot help them because Realistic Battles are not Arcade, they are fundamentally completely different game modes and perform very differently. Arcade is a very unserious gamemode and RB can also once you get the hang of identifying a weak point and trying to realize their next move to put this into an Analogy, Realistic and Sim are Chessboards. With many roles. Arcade is also a chessboard but consisting of queens only rather than bishops, queens, kings, knights and pawns.

If ULQ was responding to this, i have you ignored, unsure how many times do i need to state this.

You mean the topics where people got muted because they couldn’t follow logic? Yes, there is a lot of it, good thing moderators/admins put a stop to it and now we are able to have a good conversation.

And no, You don’t have experience which can be seen on Your profile.

And no, no one said that the TO mode doesn’t work.

People try to use others’ stats to “shut them down” but never bother to actually squad up and play with them or figure out what their strengths are. Which mine has always been support. I’ll name 4 games where I do the same thing. Unturned-> I am a builder, I focus on support, manipulation, and trickery. I am not good at frontline combat.

Minecraft: I’m a builder, I am not a PVP’er. Most of my supplies come from mining large quantities of resources out of chunks that can be used as a home. → In-game Monitary trades.

Even in RTS games such as Company Of Heroes 2 and Call of War, I am a support player, I do not go on the offensive unless my base is well-defended or I have a well-equipped frontline that’s capable on Air, land, and Sea.

To put this simply, the more I lose and die, the more knowledge and experience I gain, and can perform a lot better. Stats will never be able to show this because it accounts for every death and kills.

Like it or not, stats are practical application of knowledge onto game. Someone who understands game will know what to do in most situations.

Playing support does not mean you will have bad stats.

In warthunder, for example AA vehicles that cant engage ground targets are by definition support vehicles. You can have good stats playing them.

You can also have bad stats and a strong influence on the match since you can affect the game in a lot more ways than just by gathering kills.

Oh, I agree but in this context. I do not, cause they intended to use it to make me stop talking. It’s a common trick people use. Asides that what Muffin said above is very true.

That would still mean you have one of the following:

  1. high global winrate
  2. high score per mission
  3. high relative placement on the score board
  1. Still depends on 31 other players in the match, but should be a bit higher

  2. & 3. are not used by statshamers.

lmao

If You have problem with Your own stats being shown, then it is Your own fault.

If Your own stats contradict Your statment, then You should consider if what You say is not influenced by Your own bias.

I play both modes. AB is definitely more fun when you’re playing with slow vehicles so you get a solid boost in arcade and don’t feel sluggish. It’s also nice when you’re at a certain BR where penetrating an enemy requires pixel hunting. I do know where to shoot at least most tanks but sometimes it feels like it’s really just mouse skill based, rather than strategizing.

I enjoy RB in BRs where I know a game can sort of drag out and turn into a mind game. Sometimes I just don’t want a game to end in 8 minutes, and sometimes I want the experience to feel more relaxed.

So for me it heavily depends on BR - some BRs are just not fun in one of these modes, and the game pace that I want at the moment.

I have no problem with my stats being brought up, if it is relevant to the discussion and if they can be used to prove a point.

So far they never were and the last times somebody used them, they were largely misinterpreted.

If someone is saying that vechicle ‘x’ is effective and his own stats show something else then they were brought up for a reason.

That is true. I can’t recall this ever being applied to my stats though.

Your stats maybe, but for many others in this forum (especially some well known individuals who like to use word ‘skill’) they were brought up as they should.

Personally I mostly use them to check playstyles.

I don’t like this “your stats are bad, so your opinion doesn’t matter” elitism, but when somebody claims to be experienced using CAS in Ground RB and his stats show that he has a total of 30 airspawns, all of which are Tier I biplanes, while having a total of 300 ground RB matches played, I think it is fair to consider that claim to be false.

Same goes for people who say that campers are invincible without air and their stats are around 1 K/D in tanks.

Well…1 is perfectly balanced. :p

Not really as when talking about player statistics You need to take into consideration his experience (look at his stats overall and see how this vechicles compares to others).

If we were talking about vechicles without humans controlling them, then ye.

I don’t enjoy it. I play it for the better RP rewards.

I was recently bought back to arcade by a friend and found the “chaos” fun.

Like I’ve played the Black Prince in arcade lately and found it far more playable there then anytime I tried in RB.

I stopped playing Ground RB way back when they implemented the respawn point system. It didn’t work then, it still doesn’t and 90% of all the complaints/problems with GRB are because of that system. There’s nothing wrong with planes in ground battles, as long as they are done properly, currently in GRB, I would say it is anything but that. If they did tanks more like Naval does for planes, I think the world would be a better place, players in RB would play the game/objectives instead of the respawn point system, which is what it has evolved into now.
Side note: back then they also implemented the “list” for Sim tank battles, meaning you could no longer choose what nations/BRs/Rank you wanted to play, you were subjugated to this list. Before that I was playing Sim more and more and enjoying it very much(even tho I had hell trying to fly, thank god for the Stuka and it’s air spawn . . .lol)
Point being, they implemented these new “mechanics” without any testing that I recall and have just let it roll for ages now with very little changes. There is very little continuity between the various modes, especially planes & tanks, naval being the exception as RB & AB are not all that different and the speeds do not vary near as much. I play AB planes & tanks & RB for naval. Main reason, I have never enjoyed Air RB and the previously mentioned additions to RB & Sim tanks turned me away years ago . . . until those change for the better, I am not likely to play anything but AB tanks . . . and that’s too bad . . the old RB & Sim were actually very fun . . especially compared to what we have now
