Where is the armor on the Namer, Gaijin...?

At least 40 tons going by ratio of armor.

The total is somewhere between 80 to 82 tons.

If we assume the hull is 40 and turret is 40 based on armor coverage.

I’m 99 percent Sure that I’d trust the IDF, crew, and media calling the vehicle 80 tons over a one random government website any day.

Perhaps Gaijin forgot about the battle at Shuja’iyya in Gaza, 2014. The involved Namer APCs survived repeated ATGM strikes, and a prolonged ‘friendly’ bombardment with howitzers and 2,000 JDAMs.* No soldiers inside the Namers were harmed during the battle, and once the firing ceased the Namers returned to base under their own power.

*The IDF / IAF gets very intense when a friendly unit is at risk of being overrun.

For those who are curious…

Some photos of the Namer near the Merkava Mk4.

Replying to get this back in the feed for more people to see, but this image proves Gaijin completely wrong about the side armor and how it’s modeled.

The Side Plate in-game is stupid thin and doesn’t make sense. I mean seriously, not even the most skeptical person would think the heaviest APC in the world would be unable to stop an M1 Bazooka or Panzerfaust.

We all know the Namer has actively proven itself almost indestructible from Chemical Munitions, yet it can’t even stop a Panzer IV’s HEAT shell from Rank 1.

So, the lack of armour on Namer is very frustrating, but what annoys me more than absolutely anything about playing it, is how a single shot to turret deletes all your ammunition (and the explosion from which, breaks all external modules leaving you immobile and defenceless).

So, my question is, with Namer IFV being on the list. That can’t (/shouldn’t?) happen to that too, right?

Im seeing this just now. On the right side of the picture theres a 2nd Namer and we can see the Blocks are in no way 50mm, they fill up most of the void that the devs never bothered to model.

With another Namer possibly/likely coming up, according to the leak list, it’s hard to even be excited for it. Given how hard Gaijin already gimped the current one.

Yep, I made a topic on it yesterday

I am adding more evidence because I’m losing my mind.

ThisIsn'tEvenHardToFigureOutGaijin

These armor plates are nearly identical. Given that they are known to be the same armor type, and appear to have the same rough thickness, they should provide similar armor in-game.

Spoiler. They do not.

Even with Gaijin’s poor modifiers for Israeli composites, this would still be an astronomically huge buff to the Namer.

knowing it has extra armor also, we can assume its supposed to have ~350mm KE and ~1000mm CE side armor(thats according to gaijin logic of course)

Created a bug report on the armor of the Namer here:

How long do you think it’ll take them to reject it lmaooo

well that depends, there are 2 main options:

  1. report will be forgotten and nothing will change
  2. they will ask for historical proof?
