When Will Gaijin Address The F-5A/C's Unrealistically Cold Engines? Video included

What’s funny is that they don’t even produce that much thrust compared to other stuff they regularily meet. I’ve noticed that the Yak-38 has a really high heat sig too, so it might be something to do with VTOL aircraft in general.

Back to the F-5s, they show Gaijins issue with modelling thrust=heat signature very clearly. The only other planes that you see such low heat signatures with, are from AI planes.

There is definetly an “X” factor that also comes into this, but I have no idea what that is.

Would be really good to get a dev-blog on how IR signatures are modeled in game at some point.

F-5 also massively overperforms in STR as its wing efficiency is much too high.

This was just added last update, so something similar could be added to aircraft as well. It’ll certainly make locking cool planes more consistent, as well as allowing an IR missile to lock a plane that has no engines.

PL-5Bs, which are some of the most sensitive rear aspect missiles in the game to heat sigs before launch (will be pulled to the sun in within 20°) cannot lock F-5s until about 2.5km. It is absolutely egregious.

That’s Northrop IR reduced cold fusion tech for you

2S38 stays 10.3 because it makes Gaijin money.
F-5C is artificially buffed because it makes Gaijin money.

And we have almost no say in it. :(

its crazy how artificially buffed it really is:

Ye it’s around 100°C colder than it should be in RB. Dunno why in hell that’s still not fixed ( oh i know, because the C a premium and they have to cater to brainlets)

its far cooler than that, watch the clip I have in OP

Hm. Well I do in fact believe it’s been fact checked before and actually calculated. I’m sure someone took their time to dig up all the material in a bug report but I refuse to go to the bug reporting site because it’s a crap fest there.

I just mean something else is going on than just 100c
