The performance is so bad that it hinders the ability to BVR, for example notching while at medium to high altitude means almost all your energy is gone, and its so slow that its difficult to get to the battlefield. Going low and fast like the mig29G doesen’t work either since its a brick. The aim120’s aren’t all powerful either, the only thing i somewhat like about it is the Mavericks and the RWR, which is good enough for GRB

As I said, i do fairly well in ARB in the Sea Harrier FA2. Which is slower than the ICE and bleeds more energy in turns. Also has placeholder RWR which really doesnt help. Im armed with only 4x Aim-120s with no IR missiles or even guns. Whilst I do have more CMs, they are only BOL which barely work and the Harrier’s heat issues mean that flaring any missile is hard work.
Whilst I dont have hands on experiene with the ICE, I really doubt its all that much worse than the FA2 (likely a lot better) Im also spading the F3 Late at the moment (though not playing a huge amount of WT at the moment so barely started tbh, but doing “fine”, heck the ICE gets IRCCM missiles stock, F3 doesnt)
It bleeds energy in turns yes, but does it fall out of the sky when you turn more than 2 times? its far more agile than the brick of a phantom, but i’ll admit its probably painful to play with such a low speed. The countermeasures are defo an advantage though, but the f4f’s countermeasures are good enough. It’s just a massive boat and you need to be somewhat agile in this meta

Coming back to the point of this topic, germany desperately needs a toptier jet, while britian really doesen’t need it that desperately, since you guys do have a grippen
I’d say ICE is superior airframe to the Harrier (Equal turn, equal energy bleed but double the top speed) but equal to the F3 (though that is a guess, before the FM overhaul the F3 was defo inferior, now… I genuinely dont know)
Personally… I dont think Germany needs it that desperately. Having dealt with Tornado F3 vs Mig-29 and Mig-29G for a year, to me, F-4F ICE vs even worse case scenario such as the F-15C is a smaller gap and vs things like the Su-27SM, you actually hold an advnatage. In a downtier vs anything without ARH, you always hold an advantage.
I didnt say Britain needs something new, though being reliant on the Gripen really sucks, though personally I just play the FA2 and F3 Late and dont touch the Gripen. It would be nice for all 3 nations to get the Typhoon ASAP. Im really fearing the year ending with Britain getting the CF-18 instead of the Typhoon, 2 years in a row where we get a C&P instead of something native.
The rumoured aircraft from this update though is the Tornado Gr4, which, with the right loadout, is exactly what we need. We have one of the worst ground line-ups (maybe the worst these days) out of any nation, so having one of the strongest CAS would help off-set that greatly. I would be perfectly happy with even a 50% modeled GR4 to keep us going until Typhoon.
You can’t say it won’t come if it’s not guaranteed, there is a chance and I know leak lists aren’t 10000% accurate but if its says confirmed then its 99% that it will come, why would anyone lie about a leak, just misinformation and nonsense. Would be the same as if I just posted a F22 leak=Nonsense.
The leak said F/A-18A will be skipped, of which the CF-18 is.

No way, they will need counter parts, like the Russian/Chinese/French (maybe) (everyone who doesn’t get F18) players will actually be quite annoyed, and I doubt without doing things like Rafael, J11B, new Su27s/Su30s and even eurofighter this will be solved.
Doesn’t China have a contemporary already in game? And I’m sure they aren’t gonna leave the precious Russians out in the cold and France always has something to add.
And even if they didn’t…:what would be the big deal? Germany has been SoL jet wise for two patches now and the only time they were on even ground is when the MiG-21MF came out and then the MiG-29G came out a patch later then everyone else’s and finally gave them a meta vehicle at the same time as everyone else.
Id say there were much worst things to deal with then mig-29g for one single patch.

Yes. It’s not like the 9-12 is unusable, and i think no nation should be “dominating” by a large margin
None are. The Gap between F4F-ICE and everyone else is 1/3 the size of the gap between the Tornado F3/Viggen D vs Mig-29 last year (and thats not including the Mig-29G that came in BEFORE the Gripen). Heck considering the F4F-ICE has AMRAAM, its probably stronger than the SAAF Gripen C (In BVR) which currently has R-Darters, which are some of the worst ARH missile in game right now. So actually, yes, Britain does need a new top tier AMRAAM slinger sooner rather than later (hopefully typhoon) But in the meantime. Torando Gr4 with Brimstones is exactly what Britain needs to make up the MASSIVE chasm between the Challenger 2 and Leopard 2A7V
