The rarest, from my knowledge, tanks in-game depends. For event/marketplace vehicles in my opinion is the T-34E. The entire 2024 I saw two of them (I saw more E-100 and AMX-50 Surblindé (> 3), for unique vehicles the T-34 Prototype, haven’t seen it yet, for tech-tree vehicles the FCM 36, but this is only considering times seen but not how many players owns it.

Event vehicles are likely all present in 10’s of thousands - just not used much as they are often meme or mediocre - I have the T-34E but haven’t used it for several years, same with French 155mm howitzer

I have seen the E100, Surblinde, IS-7, and all those vehicles more times than I can count for each. I have never seen the M24 TL
Also, on the topic of extinct vehicles, the IS-2 event vehicle from 3 years ago which doesn’t appear on the WarThunder Vehicle Wiki.

It was available through a bunch of sales - there’s probably lots of them around.
Another good mention is the final hidden P-63C-5 variant of the Kingcobra in the Soviet tech tree first available for a Winter event back in 2015 along with the VK.4501 (P) Tiger.
Which honestly shocked me since I only ever thought they had the P-63A-5/10 as premiums only.

And yes, I see it now. I wasn’t aware that an event vehicle would be folded under the tech tree IS-2 1944. That’s a random place to put it, and it doesn’t make sense.
I would assume that the IS-2 event vehicle would be under the event and premium section, not the tech tree section.
They used to actually do that kind of tech tree placement with much older event vehicles back in the day

idk about the tanks but I know that the rarest plane in the game is some kind of bf109 that only devs have
