Noooooooo
Gaijin boutta look at that and think “ah, perfect Multi-SAM”
That would at least be better than the current EldE since you’ll get double the ammo
Assuming the Sisu with the radar mount is meant to be used alongside it, it certainly is a bit smaller target and guessing a bit faster, might make hiding easier or getting to a good spot in time
Also- Its like the american SPAA variant kinda
Pair them with the STRIX and it could be good fun
To be frank L/70 rounds performance is very confusing:

Edit: Ignore the Cv 90 AP
I now see why the VEAK 40 is 7.7, That and the HE-VT ofc, but still
tbh i hope they update the elde to be a multi sam
would add some missles and a bit of survivability
just a replacement though, shouldnt be a new sam
so the cv90 and amx-13 are correct, the rest isnt?
AMX-13 DCA 40, Leopard 40/70 are both correct for the Cold war L/70 yes
Rest to my understanding is way off, and in the case of the Sgt. York i think the devs might have misunderstood the velocity of the APDS rounds and just made it standard for all
The Lvkv 42 and VEAK 40 are both using a L/70 gun but with incorrect L/60 ammunition making them perform way off
Note: The Leopard 40/70 has the Licence produced exact blueprints and all, Lvakan 48 Ground mounted Turret. And the ammo is the exact same bofors dimensions and production. Just by Breda
ofc they do…
Its not a new issue either its been around since 2018 when the first discussions started on the old forum,
yeah its just the more aware you get the worse it seems, also how they have the non swedish ones correct, the US one overperforms but the swedish ones underperform… it just paits a pitcure of the game balance
Not really? It shows how tricky it can be to get accurate information about a vehicle without the playerbase. Only once it’s released and players from that nation (I’m from Sweden) can access proper sources does everything become easier to understand. It’s mostly a limitation of research and a source of misunderstandings.
The L/70 was developed in 1948 (hence Lvakan 48) and entered production around 1950. Early on, Sweden trained with cheaper, surplus L/60 (Lvakan 36) ammunition, using a conversion kit that modified the L/70’s chamber and loading mechanism—though installing it required a full disassembly and reassembly. In peacetime the L/60 rounds were used, while L/70 ammunition was reserved for wartime. Only about ten years after the L/70 entered service was enough L/70 ammunition available, and affordable, for it to replace L/60 rounds in training.
its the same gun multiple times over, how can you get such different numbers each time
I mean i would accept a 80-100 m/s difference acceptable but when it hits over 300…
Or even what is over the possible pressure outcome, like 1,100 m/s for a Semi-Heavy HE-VT or HE-T is ridiculous. 1,100-1,200 was only reached by AP or Sabot munitions
Although the amount of US ammunition tests always were questionably reliable. There are 1-4 normal values out of hundreds that are either way under or over what was standard
that is a bit odd though generally
the us test being so unrelyable
I mean, i take it several different states and different equipment and calculations etcetc. being used
And of course different conditions
The sisu vehicles are likely part of a separate system. The military ordered an AA variant about a year ago, and my guess is that we’ll see a radar vehicle and a fire platform carrying some variant of the RBS 70.
IRL the Elde 98 that we see in game is not actually used, instead the military uses a truck with the Giraffe radar and a bandvagn (same as in game, but minus the radar) as the fire platform.
The big question is what these upgrades and modifications of the current Elde 98 systems will entail.
as i understand it its just the EldE 98 + that car with radar as an option so its more mobile
The fact that america will get it as well kinda makes me suspect that it will be the NASAMS 3. The 1st and 2nd model would not really be an upgrade over the SLAMRAAM if not a sheer downgrade.
But we will see.
