Wessex HU.5: Her Majesty’s Helicopter

Yes for sure I 100% agree, the Grant should actually be TT for Britain IMO but premium would be much appreciated too

her Majesty the Queen must really like this beautiful plane XD

Is this a revival for helicopters instead of being ignored?

I demand this skin to be in the game!

Also, shouldn’t the devblog be titled His Majesty’s Helicopter not ‘Her Majesty’s’, considering King Charles flew the heli and is now the reigning monarch lol

AS.12: antyship missile with 28kg SAP, HEAT or HE warhead. This will be fun to play with both AS.11 and AS.12 at once

So my impression of the AS.12 when I tried it on the Wasp was that it steered so badly it was basically impossible to hit a moving target, and the additional range it has over an AS.11 was negated by the helicopter’s optics making it difficult to see anything at that range. Also, due to its really slow speed, if you did fire from long stand-off range most targets would die or move in to cover by the time the missile arrived.
Any word if this Wessex will at least have more zoom on the optics than the Wasp? I’m already getting the impression that “because it has better loadouts than the Wasp it’ll be a higher BR” so I kinda feel it will be over tiered a bit and SPAA will slap it.

It also has a better flight performance to.

Flight performance doesn’t mean a lot for a heli except when evading shots from an SPAA. I don’t think this will be doing any barrel rolls?

AS → Stands for “Air-Surface” and not Air-Sea,…

French designation ^^"

Well,… both Prince Philip, and now Known as King Charles III were/are Helicopter pilots, and both were trainned to fly the Wessex.

But, it flew under the reign of Queen Elisabeth the 2nd before it’s retirement. And she also used it for the 1st time in august 1977, then 2 more noticeable use in 1991 and 1993.

So,…“Her Majesty” seems appropriate to me ^^"
(But as a french guy, so maybe there is more people with various and divergent PoV ^^")
