Unfortunately there were no British bombers in this gap. This was literally the aircraft the RAF chose in real life (Washington) to fill this gap (Between the Canberra and the Lincoln) precisely because there was nothing else between them.

I think the core issue at the end of the day is that this bomber is largely relegated to CAS in GRB. Until such time we get the bomber overhaul (if it ever comes) and a meaningful overhaul of the PvE side of ARB/ASB. Then bombers like this, whether new or old just… dont really have a point. Even one like the Bone with really good turret coverage, is still largely a free kill that is probably not going to make it to targets.
Like sure, in the future its a gap worth filling, but at the moment… it just feels like an addition for the sake of an addition

Nothing is for the sake of it here. The Washington was a requested vehicle by the British community, helps to fill a gap in the tree and also comes alongside the Welkin.

Might be the case, but then im hoping we see the V-bombers soon then, given all the community requests to get them in-game, especially during the Nuclear thunder event.
Though regardless, bomber overhaul is needed ASAP, its crazy it wasnt here years ago and the bone is just gunna be target practice until then, like the B-29 is in the US tree or really any heavy bomber has been for years

It’s appropriate to say that, but I really think de Havilland Sea Hornets would be a much more welcomed addition than a British B-29 import, although it’s historically valid and was suggested/requested, as of right now, especially with the state and condition of long-range bombers, I don’t think I’m looking forward to flying more of them.
I’m taking your side on this.

While I welcome the B.1, he’s not wrong.
Bombers have been neglected for years. Can’t count how many times I’ve seen the gun cam footage of the B-17 taking repeated 30mm shells and it’s still flying on the WT Reddit; 1 is enough to set you fatally on fire or take your wing off in the game.
I can see why you might see criticism as being ungrateful, however bombers have been repeatedly nerfed for about a decade now, so you’d have to forgive the sentiment that adding them is a waste of effort, even if it is just a copy paste.

What about the Windsor? I’d argue it’s better than the Lincoln.
It has 2 x twin 20mm and has a Slightly higher bomb load.

I’m happy the Washington is coming, I’m just saying it’s misleading to say ‘There’s nothing we can add between the Lincoln/shackleton and the Canberra’

In some cases and in others not so much. So its not a guarantee it would he higher.
The Windsor is also inferior to the Washington too. So it still doesn’t fill the role or gap the Washington does.

If the gap between the Canberras and the homegrown bombers was such an important issue to address, why wait (the better part of) a decade to swap the roundels to bridge said gap?
