War Thunder "Tusk Force" - Changelog

Well when it’s almost pitch black and you can barely see anything it’s not very comfy for eyes

Then there is not really much you can do for the night vision but the Thermal sight you can change mode from white hot to black hot and/or change the color scheme.

This one in the “Y” menu changes between white and black hot:

This one changes the secondary color from white-red-green and the primary is still black/white hot:

I don’t have thermals since I play rank 5/6 jets but at least I’ll know if I ever play vehicles with thermals

I can’t remember the last time i got a night battle for planes, at least for me they are super rare x)

And for ground you have the option to opt out of night battles as well.

i would love to see some night battles for air RB though, at least the spotting system would either work flawlessly or not at all,

if it doesn’t work at all it would lend a neat buff to non-afterburning aircraft or add skill to those with them, as afterburners would be very visible,

unlike dawn/dusk maps where the position of the sun usually hands a large advantage to one team or the other with the spotting system,

Air RB EC when?

What would be cool imo would be that once we get more night fighters, these get night battles more often than others. But special missions for dedicated vehicles are kinda already a thing in sim afaik, so idk if it would work well in arb

THIS

I’ve played this game since CBT. Not every day, more like in cycles. But even in “low interest” part if such cycles i still played 2-3 battles a day. Now…man, I just claim my daily reward and leave. I even abandoned current event after completing 3 or 4 stars. Because this game feels more and more like “do this now - think about how it will work a year later”.

Mid tier battles(in my opinion they are the best thing in this game) feel abandoned due to extreme lack of ANYTHING new. And even snail adds something new and interesting - 100% it will be in a 40-50$ pack. Oh, and modern howitzers in 1 battle with WW2 heavies. But at least most maps “work” for such battles

Top tier feels like a freaking Call of Duty, not a tank battle, due to poor mad design and overall pace of battles. Plus a current “arms race” loop.

And overall technical state of this game…Man, i’ve seen less spaghetti in an italian restaurant than in dagor engine code. Every update half of game just breaks due to some random last-minute change in some minor mechanics. And it still uses ONE CORE to process all graphics. DX12 is still in a terrible state after 1 whole year of introduction. Vehicles look good, but even updated maps look… I don’t want to say bad, but if we compare WT maps to let’s say WoT - WT won’t be a winner. Physics is just trash. Crysis in 2007 had better physics than WT in 2025.

Same, I abandoned this event after 3 stars. I mean I could do the score requirement in 3 hours of gameplay but why bother when the game itself is in horrible state.

WT is in a bad state for the past 3-5 years and I am tired of waiting for some improvement… if really any is coming. I am more skeptical every patch there is because it breaks more things than it improves + all the bad decisions for the game, nah…

I must, oh yes I must Applaud the sheer humiliation that the British tech tree has become,.,

Wheeled vehicles - SLOW
Medium Tanks M4 - Slow, Cumbersome, oh and the shells — well lets not bother about the word Penetration!! Whats even funnier - same tank in other tech trees yet more manouverable.! how does work, oh yes – the anti british way! Gotcha!
Heavies - not so heavy and tanky anymore are they! under powered and weak!

Utter joke, I mean if the game really hates the British tree so be it, why bother even having it anymore.?

Russia - OP
German - OP
heck even Italy has better tech than the british!

But hey! Thats just my opinion - show me a SINGLE BR where british tanks are on top.???

Heck even Ai agrees.,!!

British tanks are often perceived as underpowered in War Thunder due to several factors, including the poor implementation of their APDS ammunition, which can lack post-penetration damage and shatter on sloped armor, and a historical tech tree design that sometimes has weak armor or is over-tiered. The lack of variety in lineups and low-tier difficulties are also contributing factors.

Reasons for underperformance

  • Ammunition issues: A primary complaint is the underperformance of British APDS rounds, which can have low post-penetration damage and shatter against certain armor types, including ricocheting off some vehicles. This contrasts with nations that have the high-damage APHE rounds.
  • Armor and angling: Many British tanks have flat, less-angled armor, which makes them easy to penetrate compared to tanks with highly sloped armor at similar battle ratings. Some players also report that the armor is less effective than it should be in-game.
  • Tech tree design: The British tech tree has been described as poorly designed, with a limited number of vehicles at higher tiers and an incomplete lineup of support vehicles like light tanks and tank destroyers. This can lead to a difficult grind for new players.
  • Engine performance : Some British main battle tanks are described as having poor acceleration and a low horsepower-to-ton ratio, making them sluggish despite having good top speed.
  • Historical vs. gameplay: Some of the limitations are attributed to the historical design of British tanks, with some being designed for anti-infantry use rather than anti-vehicle combat. This can be a poor fit for the fast-paced, anti-vehicle gameplay of War Thunder.

Look familiar!! Get some more experience then try crying “Skill Issue”

Those your stats and tanks? I didn’t know the STRV 81 with the missiles was in the British tree at one point.

Try me

Theirs, Mine is above.

It was a British Tree Premium before Sweden was added.
The Shot Kal Dalet was also a British Tree Prem before israel was added

Gotcha, where would Scorpion be ranked if it were added?

Personally I’d say around 5.3-5.7. The 76mm HESH has the same amount of filler as the AUBL-74’s, abit with lower velocity and with 80mm of pen instead of 102. The filler is enough to Overpressure pretty much any open top, and if the post pen is similar well placed shots will kill basically anything. The only big limiting factor is a lot of US and RU heavy tanks 5.7+ have about 90-100mm of armour minimum all around. (e.g. T30, IS-1/2, T26E5 etc). I’d argue it’s roughly equivalent to the Chinese M41A3, abit slightly worse.

How resistant to .50 BMG and 14.5x114mm is it?

It’s basically the same hull and turret as the Scimitar already in game

Snails, excuse me, but is this some special kind of gameplay—scoring a ton of frags with an anti-aircraft gun in two minutes and ending the battle with a nuclear strike? Is this what people actually launch the game client for? Are you sure you’re not mistaken? Wash your ears; you’ve been hearing and hinting about this for at least a year now.

Based

The damage of small calibers is so absurd that large caliber are pointless and even outperformed due to lower RoF.
