Wow what have you done again to the sound. It was nearly perfect the patch day. The sound was at it’s best the first patch day.
Then you started tweaking it and making it worse and worse. It was still ok yesterday.

But as of today ? Horrible sounds. Why do you need to change them everyday ? Today they sound like crap, sounds from 1997 sound better.

It was nearly perfect the first patch day. Why do you have to destroy them again. Just roll it back to what it was at the start of the patch.
Atm they are the worst sounds I ever heard in any game in the past 28 years. Meanwhile the first day sounds and mainly artilerry were close to the best sounds I ever heard in games… how can you destroy them in few days.

This sound needs to be fixed ASAP… I had to take off my headphones during my second battle… At first I lowered the sound setting from 34 to 20 but this is just horrible.
These sounds hurt my ears physically. I had to take off my headphones in middle of the second battle today because I started feeling dizzy.

I wanted to complete the ongoing event for the new vehicle but I can not with this health hazard.
It was ok yesterday and perfect the first patch day.

Either you need to roll them back or shut down the servers until you fix them. This hurts and I am not a fan of playing WT without sound.

idk man my ps1 games from childhood were pretty bad in audio quality

Yeah but still better than this. It is a serious health hazard atm. I was feeling dizzy after 15mins of gameplay.

And I am talking mostly about PCs, e.g. mechwarrior 3 - perfect game graphically and sounds were perfect for 1999. And miles ahead compared to these sounds in WT atm.
They were great the first day of patch though.

I think that may be more you than the game. Ive had a nasty fly the last several days and still been fine playing

Maybe but it was fine and perfect yesterday.
And the sounds were good. Now I can not distinct anything.

as far as i can tell they havent tuned anything today. your headphones may be on their death bed

I will test them in few different games and applications give me a minute.

Ok so first I tried some other games and videos on youtube. Then I restarted my PC and tried them again.
Everything is working fine.

Then I started WT again and it is still horrible and I can 100% assure you that the sounds were changed. You can test them on autocannons e.g. go into gunner view and start shooting. It sounds horrible like the bass is too strong and “artificial” idk how to describe it. Explosions sound like petards, planes sound like lawnmowers etc. Engines on tanks have some kind of tinnitus to them which ring in your ears now.
Additionally half the sounds feel like they ar cut off too soon, shooting, tank explosions, boms…
I had a battle and at the end I had to take my headphones off.

I wanted to grind the event for 35K score for the new vehicle but this is unaccetable. I might try to do it through the pain with a break after every battle but I will rather not. Health is more important than anything and hurting myself over WT is the last thing I would ever want to do.

I mean, the sounds are absolutely messed up, sure, but calling them a health hazard is a little over the top. I find it very hard figuring out which way a vehicle is coming now.

That is part of the problem gameplay wise yes.
But it physically hurts my ears and makes me dizzy after some time.

The damage from the HEAT shells from the snails is excellent))
It would probably have been easier to ram it, and that would have been more effective. Shame on you…

They did, actually. Though I am not sure what exactly has been changed about them.

Thanks for the in-depth reply.

Last I played (around the T-34 Partisan event time period) the sound was flawless, and it’s by far my most important tool in the game for doing well. (Sound that is).

There is no issues with my sound setup, as every other game I play have no issues. Playing with both IEM headphones and a speaker setup, switching between the two.

Appreciate the reply!

No issues with my sound setup with any other games.

In-game settings are set to Stereo.

I haven’t seen anyone else with this ‘cone of hearing’ issue, so I suppose it’s only on my end. Not too sure what to do about it. I can barely hear people behind me at all, and can only hear people in a 30 degree arc in front of me.

Neither had i, only in War Thunder :P

(Disclaimer: Don’t take the below info as truth, it’s just my personal knowledge/help and i don’t know any extra information or have any extra knowledge because of my Game Master title, we only handle in-game chat and name bans)

I would double check windows sound settings for surround.
right click the speaker icon in the taskbar, click “sound settings”, scroll down to and click “More sound settings”, find the device you are using and right click it and click “properties”. There are two tabs you can look in, the first is “advanced” to see if it’s two channels selected and if you have the two checkboxes that allow for application control over sound selected. The second tab is “spatial sound” to see if it’s off or on, try changing it to the other and see if that changes anything in the game.

:)

I must commend gaijin for the new design of Eastern Europe.
It is a very realistic-looking map with a wonderful autumnal feel.

Finally, there are some woods here that can be used for cover.
Small depressions and hills that can be used for cover and rear positions are excellent for tank combat.

More of this, please!
