War Thunder: The Great War!

And that never saw a tank in its entire life. But they HAD to put in a russian bs vehicle

Just as the main mode, rat tanks ruin the game

Thats reeeeeally annoying. In fact it’s not bugged, it’s just that there is an obstacle between you and the tank, so the commander sees the tank but actually gives you the distance between you and the obstacle (wood, barbed wire, broken wall etc)

If the enemy capped a point, and infantry moved in, you needed to destroy the infantry in order to uncap it and take it. The infantry also toss grenades at your vehicle.

The Chamond had a was severe disadvantage against the A7V, which only needed to one tap you to destroy the 8 crew. 18 crew took some time unless you got the perfect hit. I shot the commanders position many times and the round showed it went down and into the crew compartment, but only a set amount were killed.

Gaijin think it is fair bc A7V can also be one-tapped by Chamond if we aim for an ammo rack.

While A7V can literally one-tap Chamond by hitting anywhere on the front.

Even if we exclude that A7V has a better and wider gun angle than Chamond.

In the end this didn’t matter, the event was just GRB with a skin slapped on top. It should’ve been a PvE event, where you punch through infantry lines while defending your own infantry from machine gun nests, and field guns. It would’ve been much more authentic and immersive, like someone said here, Gaijin is a one-trick pony, god forbid we have any imagination or break the team death match mold.

It would’ve been more impactful if your ticket bleed or spawn points were directly tied to the amount of infantry alive, this way it would have encouraged people to attack infantry or interact more with it.

But the chamond now has better fire rate and better muzzle velocity which makes aiming easier + it got a mobility buff aswell.

The Mark 4 and 5 are the real bad tanks now

My last game on allied side, scored 8 kills with this thing. They never knew what hit them. Sad what the gamemode had become at the end. The buffs to the Garford were over the top and I really don’t understand who though its was a good idea to grant it hover mode over trenches. IRL you woud have gotten stuck in the first trench you want to cross. WT should have at least basic realism. There’s nothing more un-WW1 than a 30km/ fast truck wrecking havoc behind the Western Front.

Better muzzle velocity made aiming harder imo.

You cannot lob shells over cover as effectively and with the 2 second rangefinder, shell velocity is inconsequential for stationary targets.

Well, I was meant back on day 1…

I agree that Chamond also has some advantages today.

Got nine kills with it and 4 zeppelins. That thing is just broken.
On the plus side, all the grind done in one battle, i can finally forget this mode

14 are alot kills. I also noticed that despite the enemy team got butchered, they often still win^^ Cause no one bothered to cap the zones. All busy camping. No wounder, there was no incentive to win. Just personal score mattered.

I’m the only one who tried capping but then again, you can’t cap anything with the Entente, you can just snipe and pray

Tanks can’t support themselves without infantry, I’m baffled nobody at Gaijin bothered to make the infantry aspect more important. Just making the amount of infantry available or alive to keep spawning would’ve made the event so much better.

They were too busy finding a model for a russian car that no one ever saw in action in Europe

But not for moving targets and at distances over 700m it’s much easier to aim aswell. The further away the better the higher muzzle velocity becomes.

That’s why you need to snipe with the chamond and dont drive to the points. That should be the task of the milktrucks.

The tactic of entete should be to snipe at points and kill advancing tanks and then push when after some minutes.

They are too busy sniping because their gun is the absolute best of the modr

One hugh disadvantage the chamond is that the camouflage is absolutly terrible visible but now with all the buffs there should be no complains. They should have buffed the mark 4 and 5 more. Both absolutly terrible tanks

In one of the last battles on Garford, I immediately took point C from the upper right respawn, then tanked several hits from the A7V, successfully repaired and destroyed a couple more enemies in area A with flanking fire right from there, from behind the house, where a small truck is completely invisible from the enemy side.

And before the event I had never played TRB, and literally a few battles in TAB. I even shoot by eye, without calculating the distance. This truck is too OP.

The WW1 theme and setting are pretty good, but the event needed to be worked on better, it feels raw and unbalanced. I think its developers would be upset to hear this, but I’m glad it’s over soon and I can get back to AAB and relax.

Yeah but they should capture the points. They are much harder to hit driving to the point than all other tanks + They have the second best survivability

I always have an eye in the sky aswell when playing the truck. If 2 or 3 planes are in the air capturing points is very easy. I think it is only 6 vs 6.
