I beg to differ. I’ve won plenty of shootouts in my A7V against St-Chamond even at over 800m distances, usually killing them in 1-2 shots. It is at least a threat though at all distances, unlike the Mark V.
And I don’t even play RB normally.

now you can snipe and nuke the a7v cross map without breaking a sweat.
on another note, today is the first task where players get a permanent german vehicles, and there are a lot of a7vs on regular battle and using the 2c bis is incredibly funny for revenge bullying.
Fix zeppelin gunners gaijin and give us the damm zeppelin

I can’t tell if “fun” was the punchline to this April Fools’ event or like its like deliberate incompetence to say “see, you don’t actually want WW1 vehicles”. I’m reminded of a video of some saleman deliberately using a squeegee wrong seven different times to justify why you should use his product instead. Wack vehicle balance, wack vehicle movement, wack infantry inclusion.
And whats crazy is like the aircraft, which are terrible, are being held for their other game which is a terrible marketing move. “Hey, see these not fun vehicles? Guess what? You can fly them in our other game!” Like why would I if they’re bad here? Honestly, this is just making me want to go play BF1.

St Chamon is super op since the buff. With 78mm pen and good precision you kill everything with 1 shot. You could theoretically use it in rank 1-2 matches in common ground modes. Gajin kind of overreacted a bit and buffed this APHE shell to WW2 levels. Strongest armor WW1: 30mm; Pen St Chamond APHE shell 78mm, more than double, not even angling helps anymore. There’s no chance not to score, except you miss.
Community usually knows whats best :)

it’s a ww1 shell, the 1897 is not very far for the sherman 75mm m3 and even closer, the m3gmc gun that is a 1897a4, aka a modernised 1897 produced by the usa.

Just made a 1050m kill with St Chamon. Rangemeter works to 1200m. It covers the entire map and its percision good enough lol. Even at 1200m you got enough pen to defeat the strongest ingame armor.
Whoever made this report, I doubt all of WW1 saw such a rapid firing, super ranging, high pen machine.

Now French have double the penetration values than MarkV and AV7. Super high firerate, was buffed to 15 shots per min. Along with the +100m/s muzzle speed buff it has a superior trajectory for long range shots as well. Gajin was never good in balancing things out. One extreme, next day another extreme.
I wanted it too, until I saw it penetrated like 25mm at point blank xD

It still seems that the Krauts are steamrolling the match with their Leopard 2A7V, thanks to their tanky armor.
Even with buff, the majority of Saint-Chamond just gest one-tapped by random A7V fire, because of crew placements.
I agree that Gaijin is never good at balancing things.
100m/s muzzle speed buff was confusing.

that’s because it was an artificial nerf (and a CP from the b1 75mm), and now they CP the sau40. If you’re complaining, just know that they could get the mle1916 from the 2c with 460g of tnt and 66mm pen.
