That’s what i thought …
Normally i’m a big fan of French tanks but my favorite from WW1 is clearly the Mark and i was so hyped to test them out when they announced the event … needless to say i played 2 or 3 times before remembering that’s it’s still a gaijin game …
You can destroy them from the front with Garfield, just aim at the roof/driver platform
We all know they will be useless meme tanks outside of event mode
Because They are WW1 tanks with 7km speed and meh weaponry
But Gaijin decided to shame Mark IV/V even inside of this mode.
Dunno. Why the heck did they do?
Biasing Russian empire
Or hatred to the British?
Besides.
I know about this too. Thanks for the friendly reminder, though.
I just wanted to make an example of why Mark V is worthless even if you flank A7V.
Bit of both i’d say, I think the bri’ish tech tree might be the worst after the french one which really sucks.
yup, reread your comment and understood it better, sorry about that
Nah no need to say sorry, It is all good mate.
Youre not the first one bringing this up. Its the russian milk truck which does best in this event. Its strange, yes :)
How was that unwarranted? It was unplayable before… it is too fast now I would say paired with the fact that it also one shots stuff whilst it’s can tank a ton of shells in return however.
That’s wild how you can take an event where Germany is blatantly OP and turn it into Russian bias.
Well, I am well aware that the German side is strong.
I lost only once since day 1 with the Germans.
Just… a Russian-built Garford truck on both sides is annoying as hell.
While Mark IV/V is basically worthless.
With some jokes, it feels like Gaijn want to steal the valour from Mark IV/V for Garford.
For shame every Western-built tank in the event.
I am sorry if my comment was not straightforward.
Clearly, if you make an event about WW1, the stars should be the Mark and Schneider/st chamond.
The A7V was a desperate measure that barely saw combat and was made from soft steel used for cauldrons and steam engines. But still, it has its place in the event.
The garford however, never saw action on the western front and definitely never saw a tank as russia got out of the war long before they became produced.
Why is it there ? Why is it so strong (gun + survivability)? Why must they ALWAYS put a russian thing when clearly it’s out of place ?
Or was it just Gaijin was lazy enough not to make Tannenberg mode with the armoured car for the April event in 2026? :/
Err… The Mad Thunder event last year was mediocre, though.
I think the most infuriating thing about the Garford’s armor is the fact that it is 6,5mm thick, where the APHE fuse sensitivity for all vehicles in the event is 7mm. I haven’t read up on the historical values so can’t say if they’re completely correct, but goddamn.
I’m glad that the Garfords was buffed, since it was initially outright unplayable, but they definitely went overboard with it, especially with the trench crossing ability.
Was it? For a realistic game one can expect players to no drive into deep mud in the first place. Similar as you know not to drive into water in normal game modes. Garford could have been used on your own map half. Quickly driving behind your trenches to provide rapid fire support with its op HE shell.
The ability to cross the hellish no mans land should have been restricted to tracked vehicles.
For me it would have made sense if Gar wouldn’t have been able to easily cross the map.
194mm on saint-chamont chassis capable of direct fire, i want that in game!
and there’s a suggestion about it too.
Fun indeed, but absolute nightmare when a plane comes in …
Love the fact that the tracks don’t match on the vehicle in the back
I’m all for vehicles like that, especially the Wespe. But that vehicle is another topic
Yup, too few armour to trigger the shells and too much to die from HE, which is profoundly stupid.
Also just checked to wiki to learn a bit more and I love the first lines :
" Although considered to be a rugged and reliable machine by its users, the Garford–Putilov was severely underpowered. With a total weight of up to 11 tons, and only a 30 hp (22 kW) engine, the vehicles had a top speed of approximately 11–12 mph (18–19 km/h). The design was also top-heavy and therefore had very limited, if any, off-road capability."
well, you’ll have to wait for the wespe, but the hummel just got passed to the devs.
Is… is there actual people who only play germany in this event…?
I mean, i’m playing both sides to get all the rewards, but waiting half an hour to have a chance to complete the german tasks is horrendous, can’t the wehraboos play a bit of everything instead of clogging up wait lines?
Cool, I didnt know that
